Lyfe Jennings to shoot video for hit single “Statistics”

June 10, 2010

R&B star Lyfe Jennings will shoot the video for his new hit single “Statistics” in Atlanta on Tuesday, June 15. “Statistics” was the #1 most added song at Urban Radio upon impact and in his signature style has put a thought provoking spin on a sensitive subject. The song will be featured on his fourth and final album “I Still Believe,” to be released by his own label, Jesus Swings, through Asylum/Warner Bros Records on July 27.

Jennings’ taped performance of “Statistics” will air on The Mo’Nique Show tonight at 11pm on BET.

The soulful singer has experienced supernatural favor on a number of occasions, including his most famous coming off a prison bid. As referred to in many of his lyrics, music became Jennings escape during his 10-year sentence. It was during his incarceration that Jennings honed in on his musical abilities – singing, playing and writing about his experiences while behind bars. His debut album 268-192, titled after his identification number, received overwhelming acclaim including the New York Times who called Jennings, “…a socially minded R&B singer” after hearing the pain and rawness in his voice and message.
