A fast food ad with Hip Hop that won’t make you cringe- it’s a marketing winner

With few exceptions (we’ll need to think of some), Hip Hop in fast food commercials have never been much more than poorly executed attempts to help mainstream brands gain some credibility amongst the younger hipper audience. However, the results have been mostly marketing fiascos. Just a few examples include Mary J. Blige’s commercial with Burger King. Then you have the absurd, Taco Bell’s bizarre and apparently not approved use of 50 Cent’s name in one of their ads. Unfortunately, for the most part, rap commercials come off at best, leaving an unsavory taste in your palate. It’s not an easy endeavor when the artist is representing their brand, which many times can be miles away, if not at odds with a mainstream corporation’s brand- “wholesome, safe, and mass appeal.” (That’s a story for a different day).

We’ve love Busta Rhymes. That goes way back to Leaders of the New School days. He’s been on some of the most memorable Hip Hop of all time. No question, one of the dopest emcees. So we’ll leave this one up to you.

So, here we go, KFC & Cash Motto Present a music video for Chip’s “Feeling Myself.” Marketing win!

We’d be remiss not to include a winner. It’s kooky and crazy, but that’s Kool Keith’s persona. Probably one of the best Hip Hop commercials in history. Check it-
