Although most would never know it from the barrage of lowest common denominator drivel that dominates the bandwidth of pop culture today, from its inception, the genre was promising, groundbreaking and intellectual. To watch this imaginative, dynamic and powerful performance that propels Hip Hop into a trajectory that’s worthy of the potent movement birthed decades ago by resilient young minds of urban blight, is a beautiful thing indeed.
