Is Hip-Hop Dead? If yes, explain. If no, explain:

Hip-Hop is not dead. It has just went on to many different tangents and divisions. The style and concepts have broadened but the vibe/skeleton and raw rap to beat remains.

What is your vision of Hip Hop’s future?

Hopefully Hip-Hop goes towards lyrical depth. Hopefully more people say f*** Kanye, Lil’ Jon, and pointless wishy washy mockeries of original style entertainers with auto-tune and no lust for making change.

Do you listen to other forms of music outside of Hip Hop, if yes WHAT?

I listen to all styles of music. I love Portishead and Bjork and Rollins Band and Rage Against the Machine…. The list goes on and I think the influence is evident in godPawn’s music.

Who were your artistic/musical influences growing up?

Just about everything you can think of. Refer to the answer in question 3 as well.

What is your musical background?

I started playing guitar when I was 10 and got on the mic in my first band (hard-core) and have done metal and hard-core and rock bands. I currently do my solo project at www.TheMulliganProject.com which is chill ambient electro stuff with subliminal messages and brain-wave triggering binaural beats for self-help purposes. My main project and representation for change and for true lyrical depth can be found in godPawn. -also see my activist organization FUCR – myspace.com/fucr

How do you describe your music to people?

We have coined the phrase: “Industrial Activist Rap” -godPawn

What image do you think your music conveys?

Not to be easily satisfied with life and the happenings around you. Work towards change and always question and think for the better.

What’s your outlook on the record industry today?

Seems grim, I suggest DIY it. We currently are proud to tell EVERYONE to check out www.CapacityProductions.net

What inspires you to do what you do?

I can’t relax and thus have to constantly be in a forward motion. I aim to kill stagnant behavior. Come to one of our live shows and you’ll feel it.

What project or projects are you currently working on? When will they be released?

GodPawn full length coming this year (next couple months)

It’s called “F*ck Conformity, Destroy the Trendy”

I also am personally working on the second Mulligan Project album.

If you had an opportunity to collaborate with ANY artist or artists (dead or alive) in ANY genre of music/art, who would you choose? And why?

Henry Rollins would be fun to colab with because his intensity seems like mine and I’ve been a huge fan forever. I also love me some Chuck D for lyrical depth.
