Insomniac Magazine’s Weekly Hip Hop Top Ten 10/22/18

Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Releases

Insomniac Magazine continues to supply you with Top 10 audio heat to jump start your week! Get into the zone and check out the list below!

1) TY FARRIS is so dope that even his bonus joints resonate with more power than most emcees’ entire catalogs! On “Oligarchs” the Detroit, MI mic master demonstrates his influence over the underground as he joins forces with Hip Hop Heavyweights SAGEINFINITE & SAGA for a 3 minute blast of savage lyricism & “pistol politics!” Make way for REAL BARS & BOOM BAP! The rulers are runnin’ this town!

2) DJ LORD & KOOL KEITH blast off into outer space with a rocketship fueled by Threepeeoh’s unstoppable sonic energy on the “Afterburn” power heater “Eagle Force!” The legendary lyrical mastermind cascades & pivots around an otherworldly soundscape perfectly complemented by DJ Lord’s high-powered performance on the 1 & 2’s! Gear up for action & experience a close encounter with Hip Hop royalty below!

3) CA$ABLANCA & SUPREME CEREBRAL wreak havoc on the world & love every minute of it on the Yashmallallah laced heater “Inglorious Bastards!” The ill spitters do serious damage to the hypnotic sonic landscape while smacking up all opponents they happen to see along the way. If you doubted their abilities, the beatdown’s been long coming. Feel blessed to be lying facedown on the pavement. Do yourself a favor & don’t get up again.

4) RIGZ teams up with merciless mic marauder MOOCH for “A Piece Of The Action” power cut called “Percs!” Flu throws down on production by employing an ominously eerie track for Da Cloth’s kings of raw rhymes to rip into! As the music builds, the spitters draw listeners in with a tale of dope fiends, mayhem, and murder that’s more gripping than anything you’ll see at the movies. Don’t mess wit’ those percs but definitely f**k with this crew!

5) HUS KINGPIN & One Session debut the first taste of their Portishead influenced “PortisHus Project” with the supreme slice of heat “Hannibal Hus!” #TheWinners visionary flows over the goth/hip-hop rhythms with ease as if he’s married to the beat. It’s a Wavo-One Session experience that can’t be missed. Give your moms a call. If Hus & Session pick up you know what time it is!

6) MOOCH & Farma Beats “Ruin Ya Life” but deliver dope music as compensation! The “Heroin Farms” heater is an expertly produced head nodder that finds the fearless Da Cloth lyricist in top form. He creeps in the night to do his dirt so he can celebrate the spoils of his success during the day. Murder’s on the menu with a side dish of revenge best served cold. It’s not easy being Mooch but it sure is profitable.

7)LUCKY SEVEN & CONWAY regale listeners with “Magic Tricks” you haven’t seen anywhere else before! The “53CREE” banger hits ya over the head with the hardest bars…but delivers them so effortlessly you’ll instantly acknowledge the skill & creativity of the talent involved. The competition will need magic on their side to drop something as dope as this joint. Check out the track below then play it over & over again!

8)HEEM STOGIED & WAZASNICS just dropped 12 tracks of Grade A heat on their stellar new opus “Lost Souls.” “Rappin Like A Sport” featuring FASTLIFE is a major standout on the project due to its driving hardcore backdrop & cutthroat lyrical intensity! This joint is about as far away from the mainstream as it gets. The only pop you’ll be hearing are from those hollow-points entering your skull. The track’s that deadly! Heem & FastLife enter your town & blood soaked streets are left in their wake!

9) Public Enemy’s DJ LORD & the legendary CHUCK D catch wreck on a Mike Redman powered mastercut called “Terrorwrist!” The track is certified Dope On Arrival with a showcase of brilliant beats & cuts propelled into sonic nirvana by the “Hard Rhymer” himself! Feel the “Afterburn” & bask in the glory of REAL Hip Hop & all it has to offer!

10) CAMOFLAUGE MONK’s “Unreleased Gold” project earned its title for a very good reason. Case in point is one of the WESTSIDE GUNN featured gems which find the GXFR powerhouse waxing poetic to a chick he wants to f**k in the “Fendi Store.” The dope joint has a smooth “Bonita Applebum” vibe that’s jettisoned further into the stratosphere by Gunn’s compelling delivery. The brevity of WSG’s appearance on the cut leads us to believe he planned to go back & record more later…but hey, we may never know for sure. Either way, this gem’s first class heat & truly worth its weight in gold!

Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
