INSOMNIAC MAGAZINE’S WEEKLY HIP HOP TOP 10: DON’T SLEEP ON THESE NEW RELEASES

Hip Hop comes in all flavors. Overwhelmingly, this week’s running theme on the top ten has been rugged and raw. Kudos to all of the wonderful Hip Hop artists that stay making quality music year round. Despite its long predicted demise due to lack of representation on commercial radio and mainstream entertainment outlets, we all know where to find the wordsmiths, beat artisans, and the true purveyors of Hip Hop music. Let’s keep it moving; we’re proud to present Insomniac Magazine’s Weekly Hip Hop Top Ten.

1) AZ X Prodigy X Raekwon – “Save Them”
AZ, Raekwon and Prodigy bring the the lyrical heat on the new Buckwild produced gem “Save Them.” Sit back and behold Hip Hop mastery brought to you by three of the genre’s most distinguished lyricists.

2) Da Villins X DJ Skizz X Sean Price – “Indivisible P&P”

The Hip Hop legacy of master mic rocker Sean Price continues to thrive on. This time it’s on this incredible street rocker by Da Villins and producer DJ Skizz called “Indivisible.” Check the stellar delivery and production and dig into the “Cashmere Dice” album.

 

3. lojii & Swarvy – “kol’ game”

Wow! Real Hip Hop shines through without a doubt. “kol’ game” by lojii & Swarvy brings solid minimalist production and silk smooth delivery. Check their track off the “Due Rent” album.

4) Smoke DZA f/ WestSideGunn X Conway – “The Club”
On this entry, we find three of Hip Hop’s top rising superstars. Smoke DZA delivers a 183rd laced piledriver to the competition! Check out the WestSideGunn & Conway featured banger, “The Club.”

 

5) Ca$ablanca – “Death From Above”

Raw rhymes and rugged beats galore on the J.F. produced track “Death From Above.” You can’t sleep on Ca$ablanca’s lyrical assault, so take cover.

6)Kool Keith X Variuz Musik X Dane Uno – “Vibes”

It’s no secret that one of our favorite living legends is the amazing Kool Keith. His picture should appear under “prolific” in Webster’s Dictionary. Once again he comes through with a dope Hip Hop entry. Check the “Vibes” with Keith, Variuz Musik and Mr. Dane Uno. Don’t sleep on the the latest, brought to you by this group of stellar talent.

7) Ruste Juxx X Tony Gore X DJ Fastcut – “Bread X”

8) Chris Read X Pugs Atomz Drop f/ Wes Restless – “Drum Roll”

Chris Read & Pugs Atomz team up with Wes Restless & Juice Aleem for the laid back soul of “Drum Roll.” Check out the new gem below!

9) Jamaal Rahji – “Thornwell Jacobs”

In his description of this jazzy, new age type track, Jamaal Rahji explains that the namesake of the song Thornwell Jacobs “created one of the most famous Time Capsules in history ‘The Crypt of Civilization.'” Take a listen to some Hip Hop that will elevate your mindstate.
