According to TMZ, a few weeks ago Jay Z flew Prince’s sister, Tyka, and her husband, Maurice Phillips, to New York & offered the couple approximately $40 million to purchase the purple legend’s unreleased material. Considering that the revered musician practically lived in the studio this would mean volumes of never before heard gems for fans worldwide. The catch is that he must get the official sign off from all the brothers and sisters(who have conflicting ideas about the protection of his legacy)and the trust that is managing the estate. Hova is still in the running for overall streaming rights so we’ll have to wait and see how this plays out. On a brighter note, Prince’s Paisley Park recording studio and home will begin operating as a permanent museum this week & is expected to attract 600,000 people a year.
