Premavara interview: Making moves in 2011

Please talk about new developments with Premavara.
We have a record coming called “PremAmerica” featuring M-Eighty, U-God of Wutang, Killah Priest, Canibus, BlackKey, Eagle, DJ JD, GMoney, A.D.D., and Leaf from CMD with GMoney. The Hip Hop world needs to watch out for these guys, they’re coming up fast, they’re a big part of our label.

Have you received interests from bigger labels?
We have major label interests, but can’t say whom yet. Just did a mixtape track with M-Eighty, The Game, Jaecyn Bayne and Premavara. The record is due out on UGHH.com.

What type of marketing activities are you working on for the upcoming release?
There’s a big push on this one. Trying to go all in and put the chips on the table and see where they fall. We have marketing campaigns running through the Trilogy Music Group, a very successful radio campaign company. Premavara will have college radio spinning music from the new release. Meanwhile, the group plans to perform in Sweden and embark on a tour of California, not to mention DJs stops and live performances around the Philly area.

Who’s handling the distribution?
Distribution will be handled by UGHH.com, CD Baby and will reach all of the mainstays in the digital space. 101 Distribution is being utilized for shelf-space on Best Buy.

Are you working on any other projects as a producer?
I’m producing a trip hop record “Envy Innocence,” featuring Laura Woodrell. M-Eighty killed a 16 on it. That’s in the works through January 21st. I’m also scoring a horror film entitled, “Devoured by Darkness.”

How would you describe the new release?
True Hip Hop roots, Rock overtones, with Blues, West Coast beats, in an East coast styled album. We Also have Philly Swain is killing it on a remix for “The Streets (of Philly) and a free download for the fans featuring The game, Premavara, M-Eighty and Jaecyn Bayne.

Any closing words?
Shout outs to Wutang, M-Eighty, Wi$eguys, and the whole Premavara Family including a new member working with us Jordan. My Fans have been so important to me. My fiancé and my family keep supporting me, and I want to do a great job for them. I also want to rep Jersey as an assassin on the mic. Premavara is out front of your door knocking. Let me in. I love music, it’s my life and I have no pipe dreams about being a millionaire. I just want to do well and hit the top 200 charts on Billboard. I want to give UGHH.com shout outs for being supportive and let everyone know, the Jersey assassin in ready to roll over the competition. Peace, luv, and Hip Hop!
