According to sources, Jay Z’s planned purchase of Prince’s catalog of unreleased material has gone up in smoke. The estate sent a letter to Jay’s team stating they had no interest in Roc Nation exploiting any of the estate’s intellectual property assets…and to make matters worse they are claiming Tidal streamed 15 Prince albums without their permission after the singer’s death when Jay Z only had a contract in place for the release of his “HitnRun Phase One” album. Though the estate acknowledges the deal, they claim to have no proof of a $750k payment to close the agreement. Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems…
