Nave Live 2

Every now & then a lyricist will appear on the scene who seems pre-destined for greatness. Within seconds of listening to “Copy That” from Philadelphia native, Nave, I knew immediately he was among the rare artists in that unique category. His wiry, animated flow wraps itself around the funky grooves, silky synths, and sparse beats in such a dominant manner that it’s easy to see that stardom is ingrained in the ultra talented emcee’s DNA.

Nave also possesses some of the smoothest vocals in the game. Even when delivering lines about sexual subject matter, he has the ability…or GIFT, of making the most raw topic sound instantly pleasing to the ear. If this track serves as a preview of what to expect on his forthcoming “Espresso” album, listeners will be in for a special treat. Simply put, Nave is more than a rapper. He’s a creative force who shows no signs of EVER slowing down. Talent…Check. Style…Check. Future superstar…Check. Copy That!

Bonus: You can never get enough Nave, so here’s his previous single & video from the “Espresso” project that adds yet another layer to the lyricist’s complex personality. Check out “Cosby Kids”(featuring Alyea Pierce) below.
