Ooggz Profile

The Bronx is known worldwide for being the birthplace of Hip Hop. Each rapper who emerges from the borough is expected to represent accordingly, by showcasing imagination, versatility and undeniable skill on the microphone. Ooggz is well aware of the legacy he must fulfill to his hometown and brings his talent & creativity to fruition on the 5 song EP, “Welcome To Neptune.”

Things kick off with “Get Em,” a high energy track that finds the emcee facing down haters, taking on challengers and refusing to give up. Ooggz’s vocals beckon the listeners to pay attention and acknowledge him for the artistry he possesses. “Come On Down” (feat. Ayanna Williams)is a smoothed out R & B styled jam that showcases the rapper’s romantic side. The artist’s mind is filled with thoughts of a potential lover who may ultimately give in to his charms. Ooggz and the listeners know it’s just a matter of time.

“Classy” continues the soulful vibe as the emcee rhymes to the object of his affection over a re-worked version of Deniece William’s classic, “Free.” “Doing Right” focuses on Ooggz’s frustration in a relationship and his desire to move on as a result(“You know that I be doin’ right, You know that you been doin’ wrong). The track is more uptempo than the previous selections but “Ain’t What U Want” is the joint that will really get the party started. The sense of urgency in Ooggz’s voice combined with the speaker shattering beat will make this a club favorite for months to come.

“Welcome To Neptune” proves that Ooggz is more than worthy of attaining a place among Hip Hop’s elite. This EP was just a testing ground for the talent and presence he exudes. One can only imagine what he has in store for the future.
