Many hip hop artists took to Twitter to share their memories of Robin Williams. Questlove of The Roots recalled entering an elevator with his group during the 2001 Grammys when he heard a voice yell out, “Questlove…Black Thought…Rahzel…The Roots from Philadelphia!” Questlove was surprised to see that the person calling him was Robin Williams…and even more surprised that Robin could name check each member individually. Apparently, Robin’s son turned him on to the group. Anytime they would meet afterwards, Robin would try to top his Roots trivia knowledge just to impress Questlove and make him laugh. Another incredible artist(and Insomniac fave) Immortal Technique recalled meeting Robin and being surprised when he spoke to him in Spanish. We all knew this, but Robin Williams was a truly special man. He will be greatly missed.
