Asun Eastwood and Onaje Jordan drop “Danger My Ally” EP

The demand was high, and Asun Eastwood came through to give the good people what they’ve been waiting for. On his birthday, the Formula 16 heavyweight rhymer dropped his new EP, “Danger My Ally” with Chicago based producer Onaje Jordan. Ever since the lead single “Verified Account” was released last September, I was looking forward to hearing the rest of the project. He served up 7 knockout tracks composed of intense lyrical rhyme schemes over raw, neck breaking beats that compliment Asun’s clever wordplay. The mixing and mastering of the final product was handled by DJ Mercilless.

Asun went in on the first track, “Intro (That Fire),” followed by the grimy “Debauchery & Filth.” Next up was “Verified Account” which is a serious banger and is hands down the hardest track on the EP. With its dark, eerie beat, the single has an accompanying video, shot by Mercenary. There were no guests, with the exception of the last track, “Gold Pennants” featuring Saipher Soze and Daniel Son. This platter is served with supreme grit, which will be quite satisfying to the fan base of the Toronto emcee.

Onaje provided multiple instrumental backdrops that complimented Asun’s decadent flow. While each beat was different, everything was hard hitting and exceptionally executed. It’s clear that Ace is always ready to body a track whether he’s solo, or has a competitive counterpart to spar with. “Danger My Ally” is currently available digitally on Bandcamp. Asun, we hope your birthday celebration was just as special as this project you blessed us with! -Hipnotik1
