“Brooklyn’s Finest” features heavy hitters Cheadle, Snipes, Hawke, and Gere. Michael K. Williams (Omar from The Wire) gives a great performance.
The film focuses on crime and urban blight on the cold, hard streets of BK. It’s a bit reminiscent of Fort Apache The Bronx, The Wire, Juice, Crash, The Shield, and New Jack City roll into one, but not quite as good as any of those. The film gets a bit gratuitous in a scene with Gere and a love interest half his age. Regardless, if you’re in the mood for a decent cop drama, it’s worth watching.
