Cassandra The Goddess MC unleashes a brand new full-length brimming with a range of authentic Hip Hop. Funky vibes, doo wop grooves and silky soul textures are woven through the project with a common thread of quality boom bap as a cohesive sonic aesthetic. Each track features the talented lyricist seamlessly serving potent prose with impactful delivery.
When asked about the project, Cass shared that like a previous album, Girl By Door, it drew inspiration and “alludes to the book and film by Sam Greenlee, The Spook Who Sat by the Door which is still a blueprint to this day for revolution.” She adds, “Cobra is based off the youth from Greenlee’s film and as a MC in this game, I am becoming a cobra. Flow and spit venom like one and know to cut the snakes in the grass at the head. I have shown more than my normal ‘hip hop hijab’ for my sensual side on [the] last project and though I may adapt to my environment I will never lose my essence. Hard bard and beats. Poet and observer of patterns and my experiences. As a DBlock Double Entendre Cassandra, I am blessed for my journey and experiences from many legends in this culture and craft.
