Cognac & Roses comes through with a summer jam just in time to wrap the season. The soulful powerhouse joins forces with fellow central Floridan rhyme phenom NIKO IS for a Hip Hop sizzler that’s sure to please the crowd. “Windshield” was constructed to blast in a ride or boom in the club. Free Beatz handled production duty lovely during sessions at Orlando recording fixture Studio 18.
Regarding the origins of his distinctive name, Cognac & Roses explains that it was inspired by “a tradition around Edgar Allen Poe. For decades, a Baltimore citizen would visit Poe’s grave on his birthday with three roses and a bottle of cognac. He would toast to Poe’s legacy and tribute to the world of art.” And, about the tight new track, he continues, “It’s summer – it’s hot, people are acting out, work is getting harder. I want people to chase your dreams – shake off doubts and blow through any obstacle that gets in their way. Full speed ahead through the haters like they’re the bugs on your windshield.” Hit play and ride the heatwave.
