Darryl McDaniels otherwise known as DMC of the iconic group, Run-DMC has switched up his hustle from captivating crowds to creating comics. In an interview with the Daily News, the former rapper mentions that he will debut his first graphic novel, “DMC” Oct. 29th. The “King of Rock” described the storyline as taking place in an alternate reality of the 80’s, where he is a superhero instead of the powerful mic controller we all revere. He even credited comic book heroes for giving him the inspiration for his rhymes. “I would hear a beat and go, ‘OK, what would the Hulk do to this?…That’s why if you hear my delivery…Crash through walls/Come through floors/Bust through ceilings…all the dominant punching lines came from (channeling)the Hulk.” Now we know that D has a wild imagination. Then again, that was evident by all the incredible material he gave us in the past. Pick up “DMC” in a few weeks and pay your respect to a living legend.
