The iconic low bass, snappy snares and distinctive cowbells are essentials for any contemporary music producer’s toolbox decades after the machine’s foray into recording studios during the early ’80s. Although today’s virtual sound libraries feature the 808’s instruments making it possible to enjoy the sonic boom without actually owning this piece of equipment, the decades old beat box remains a highly coveted prize amongst beat aficionados the world over.
