Hip Hop Radio Heroes, Stretch and Bobbito screen film

For the uninitiated, Stretch Armstrong and Bobbito Garcia are New York radio fixtures. Starting during the early ’90s, Hip Hop aficionados throughout the Big Apple tuned in to the Columbia College radio station WKCR to get the freshest music available anywhere. The dynamic duo helped break plenty of Hip Hop staples by bringing them onto the most coveted of all airwaves for the genre, New York City. The legendary tastemakers have reunited to launch the debut of a new documentary about their contribution to the Hip Hop phenomenon. “Stretch and Bobbito: Radio That Changed Lives” is sure to provide an ample amount of history and insight into the early days of the second wave of Hip Hop greats that emerged during the ’90s and beyond.

If you’re in New York, don’t miss their 25th anniversary show and film screening on August 16, 2015 from 5:00pm-10:00pm at Central Park’s Summer Stage. For more information check Stretch and Bob’s site at http://stretchandbobbito.com/post/115885474582/stretch-and-bobbito-concert-film-screening.
