Don’t sleep on the skills! This crew is blowin’ up the block & conquering the nation!!!
3) RANSOM x PLANET ASIA get sacrilegious on all you so-called Hip Hop gods by “Burning Bibles” & pissin’ in your Holy Water!!! 38 SPESH laces the pair with a gloriously gritty soundscape that they savagely rip asunder until their rivals beg for mercy! The opposition drop to their knees & ask the divine duo for forgiveness…but in return, the mic slayers erase them from existence!
4) STACK MOOLAH whispered in God’s ear & requested a supreme soundscape that could match the limitless talents of mic assassin ROME STREETZ! Well, his prayers were answered because the production king delivers a bountiful supply of beatific audio heat in the form of “Brick Lesnar!” Rome skates across the sonic terrain while y’all Haters get tight. Muthaf***as wanna be in Rome’s league but they still don’t rhyme right!!!
5) 38 SPESH, STOVE GOD COOKS & HARRY FRAUD show ya why they’re so “Speshal” on a reflective banger that serves as a rags to riches story for the crew! Street life ain’t a game but Spesh & Cooks were clearly masters of their domain as they ran the block & took over the town. Harry Fraud ties the whole extravaganza together with bangin’ beats that leave craters in your speakers!!!
6) CA$ABLANCA x CAP CHINO link up with MEPH LUCIANO for an ominous audio sizzler called “X Files!!!” Typhoon Casa attacks the enigmatic track like a cyclone summoned from Hades itself before Meph steps in to calm our nerves with a supremely, soulful hook. Although, listeners are given a few seconds to exhale it’s only a matter of time before Ca$ablanca takes our breath away!!!
7) When we think of DNTE & ONAJE JORDAN only one word comes to mind. “Genius!” That also happens to be the title of the “African Medallions” banger currently residing on this chart. There were a LOT of dope tracks to choose from(“Hoffmans Bag” we’re lookin’ at you)but the lyrical dexterity of the unrivaled rhyme juggernaut combined with Onaje’s war drums from beyond the universe, gave this one the edge!
8) RJ PAYNE, BUN B & ICE-T’s “Bulletz & Broken Glass” banger is an undisputed megawatt sizzler that only missed previous lists due to an insurmountable onslaught of insane releases!!! NOW with the delivery of their ultra-creative @hipHopiZlyfe crafted visual we get another chance to revisit the CARTUNE BEATZ laced smash!!! Just to remind ya, NO ONE’S f**kin’ wit’ RJ on the lyrical tip! The fact he gets co-signs from 2 of the biggest legends in the game(who spit FIRE like they’re still hungry MCs with something to prove)says a lot about the elite lyricist & the respect he garners from the industry!
9) RASHEED CHAPPELL serves as narrator for an urban Twilight Zone many of us call home. On the LITTLE VIC laced “Manna From Heaven,” an odd sense of “normalcy” is associated with police corruption, murder, drug dealing, and 20 to 40 year bids. Dope fiends are a staple of the neighborhood, rats & roaches are family pets, and a winning lottery ticket out of poverty is a bullet to the dome. The brilliant bar slayer knows this environment all too well. It’s a Tale From The Darkside that sheds light on a harsh reality.
10) The incredible AMADEUS360 THE BEAT KING joins forces with lyrical legends MC CRAIG G & EL DA SENSEI for an awe-inspiring update of the DE LA SOUL & J DILLA classic sizzler “Stakes Is High!” With the seemingly endless onslaught of rappers being murdered or imprisoned, Hip Hop was due for a major turnaround. In fact, TRUE Hip Hop is about the betterment of one’s self & community, so the OG’s drop knowledge to repel all the recklessness. These MCs aren’t afraid to say we need to be held accountable for our actions. Think things through & make a change. Time is of essence!
