Don’t Sleep On These New Releases
The underground is boiling over with an onslaught of new releases!!! Get yourself in gear & tap in to Insomniac’s Weekly Top Ten!!!
1) “War Of The Worlds,” “Bishop Don Juan,” and “Harsh Times” were all on the cusp of landing at the #1 spot. But we felt one track embodied the theme of SUPREME CEREBRAL & SWAB’s outstanding opus “Son Of Hannibal!” “Can’t F**k Wit Me” is the first wave of attack on the prestigious platter and it dismantles any operation the opposition could ever devise!!! Bugzy breaks necks over Swab’s hardcore soundscape but leaves a little room for you to run home and lick your wounds. “Tell the whole army they couldn’t stop me/I’m so sorry!!!,” is the motto of the day! Enemy forces see the MC coming and surrender on sight!!!
2) When DIAMOND D wants to destroy your career he knows who to call!!! NEMS, SAIGON, PRAYAH & TONS sacrifice your soul to the gods of the underground and perform lyrical rituals on your lifeless corpse with the ill heater “T.S.N.Y!!!” The Diam Piece 3: DUO” sonic blockbuster will singlehandedly restore the East Coast’s prominence in the industry and leave the competition flailing in the wind!!! The opps must submit to their dominance. The crew bring it to ya rough, rugged, and raw!!!
3) “Welcome To Stuyville” and meet EDDIE KAINE & RIM!!! “What’s This?,” you’re still not aware of two of the dopest MCs to grace the borough of BK? Then you better PRESS PLAY on this CAMOFLAUGE MONK powered mega banger and get familiar!!! The mic titans have already proven their mastery of tag team lyricism & they up the ante on this release. No other artist possesses half the passion they exude in the booth. No other artist raises the bar every time!!!
4) ENELS slipped in a SYPOODA laced last minute bonus joint from his “Hells Hot” project and it blew the nearest competitors out the water!!! DANIEL SON & MO RUKUZ lend lyrical power assists to the “Grateful Dead” and help Enels hold contenders hostage until they’re ready to toss ’em back to the public! The fractured ‘piano keys in a whirlpool’ production will bring out the inner Grim Reaper in you and aid in draggin’ all your haters to their grave!!!
5) It ain’t necessarily a good thing when your name rings bells in the hood. FREDRO STARR reveals the hidden envy present in those closest to you that reveals itself when you’re movin’ up in the world. “Hood Jealousy” is a kind of urban condition that make some afraid to crawl out from their barrel of crabs…and the Onyx icon perfectly relays what can happen if you don’t keep your head on a swivel. When things are going well that’s the time to get worried. You’ll be lookin’ the other way as they’re lookin’ to line you up!!!
6) TERMANOLOGY x TEK team up with EASY MONEY to make “Money Deposits” while flowin’ over a CARTUNE BEATZ fueled arrangement!!! The three mic executioners have been around long enough to know that the bag comes first when dealin’ with fools in the industry! They’ve got the skills to pay the bills so come correct wit’ the loot. You do otherwise and s**t’s bound to get uncomfortable.
7) When you look up “stress” in the dictionary you’ll probably see a still of this BOBBY J FROM ROCKAWAY & DOM DIRTEE video aside the definition. These innovative entities must be commended for perfectly capturing the feelings of frustration, depression, helplessness, and overall agony that go hand-in-hand with being an underground artist. “Hello” finds Bobby J pouring out a diary of his soul into the booth while Dom expertly captures the moment with transcendent rhythms. The key question here is: “Are you listening?” If you haven’t before we implore you to do so NOW!!!
8) SMIF-N-WESSUN will be here FOREVER!!! “Infinity” is the KHRYSIS laced audio gem blowin’ up the underground & heralding TEK & STEELE’s long-awaited collabo opus. It’s been six years since 2019’s “The All,” and obviously the duo haven’t missed a beat. The street lessons they learned are now being taught to artists worldwide. Their impact on Hip Hop is truly everlasting!!!
9) THE MUSALINI & SWUM’s WILLYYNOVA & REVENXNT featured “UGK” joint feels like winters in New York where cold air rips through your weary bones and makes you wonder how you ended up in this ungodly environment!!! These artists obviously know all about survival tactics in The Rotten Apple because they brave mass transit and the grimey city streets to do major damage in the booth! Open up your mind & get your cash right! This crew is makin’ waves across the scene!!!
10) In our tradition of concluding the countdown with an undisputed banger, we HAD to select PANAMERA P & CHASE FETTI’s new SYPOODA seared masterwork, “La Familia!!!” The soul-drenched scorcher received HEAVY playback in the office due to the lyricists’ laid back, self-assured take on the stellar production. We don’t know what kind of street sorcery they’re practicing but Chase & P teleported us out the building and gave us a center stage view of their innermost reflections!
Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
