Don’t Sleep On These New Releases
Insomniac Magazine hits ya with another exciting edition of the Weekly Top Ten! Get set for action & check out the list below!
1) ASUN EASTWOOD is makin’ so much bread he has to ask “Where’s Da Mayo?!?” on a WAVY DA GHAWD laced banger featuring rhyme lord SMOOVTH! The head nod heat is at an all-time high when these colossal mic controllers bumrush the scene. Y’all can talk that s**t all you want but this talented trio stay collectin’ that green!
2) COUSIN FEO & LORD JUCO are takin’ Italy by storm on new supreme steez called “Terror In Turin!” TIMEPIECE throws down behind the boards with DJ DUBPLATES expertly providing ill cuts. But no DEATH AT THE DERBY track would be complete without a supply of champion lyrics. Feo & Juco always deliver them aplenty!
3) Just when you thought ya left “September” behind, PAPOOSE brings it back with a vengeance!!! On the PASSPORT GIFT featured sizzler “Cold Winter,” LARGE PROFESSOR furnishes the lyrical avenger with one hell of a funky beat that includes latin rhythms to keep the set percolating! Pap boldly treks across the exotic sonic terrain and dominates the track in no time flat!
4) SCRIPZ & BOBBY CRAVES weave their wondrous wordplay into the fabric of a WANN SKLOBI laced track for new CERTAIN.ONES steez called “Say What?” The mic kings cut thru the commercial clutter & uncover another underground gem. They’ll bring the noise & pump up the volume but you’ll always hear them loud & clear!!!
5) INTIFADA BEATS tossed the highest level of audio insanity into the atmosphere before JAMAL GASOL snatched it up as fuel for new lyrical heat! Make “No Mistake,” this joint will stomp a mudhole into the ass of the competition then pivot back and come swingin’ for more! Jamal takes it all in stride cause he knows his rhymes were built to last. This is one more notch in the belt of the conquering king!
6) We can’t see what NEAKO looks like but he definitely sees us! Not only that…he also knows EXACTLY what we need!!! On “Bane Nescobar 700,” we’re treated to the undeniable opulence of a mic god in action. The supreme spitter leads us into his lyrical escapades & levitates us to the far regions of heaven. Then, just as we settle into a state of complacency he flips the script & jettisons us into the deepest recesses of hell. It’s okay though. We really like it here. The inferno rages on as we keep playin’ his song!
7) PSYCH MAJOR crafted some next level, space age type boom bap s**t and cast his sonic fishing rod into the dark waters of the underground! RAF ALMIGHTY & THEREALSKITSO took the bait and if ya wanna know how dope the joint is the title gives everything away! On “It’s Live,” the lyrical force is strong indeed. This is that supremely aggressive music that makes ya mug a middle schooler for his milk money and put his pet puppy out to pasture. Only REAL MCs can survive a beat this ill. And on a track like this you get two of the finest!
8) BLASS 89 & EMILIO CRAIG ain’t about that part time life! That’s why they’re droppin’ “Full Time Heat” over a stellar SKINNY WHITE laced track! Bass instantly blasts you into the back of the room before savage bars scurry across the floor to finish you off! It’s a raw adventure into the underground. One you’ll be inclined to experience time & time again!
9) If THE QUARTER INCH KINGS revealed that they conceived this song while playing the piano in an underwater mausoleum we wouldn’t be surprised. True geniuses sometimes have to go to extremes to make things happen. Speaking of geniuses, ZAGNIF NORI is once again by their side for “Devil In Disguise!” The enigmatic audio heater focuses on the media’s deceptive reporting and the fallout from their dangerous facade. The devil may be in the details but he also might be on the screen.
10) We kicked off the countdown with a #Winner so it’s only appropriate that we close out with one too! The heavy hittin’ HUS KINGPIN joins forces with PURE on STU BANGAS stretched sonic nirvana called “Firm Biz!” The transcendent power cut conjures imagery of a palatial estate inhabited by the upper echelon! In other words, Hus & Pure fit in perfectly. Check the beats & the rhymes. Y’all know what to do. Take a load off & relax with the crew!
Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
