Insomniac Magazine returns with the latest edition of our Hip Hop Top Ten! All joints are pure HEAT but one MC on the list is having a spectacularly great week. We’ll let you figure out who that is as you check out the countdown below!
1) GRIME LORDS duo BORN UNIQUE & PETE TWIST team up with MILANO CONSTANTINE, RECOGNIZE ALI & DJ TMB for a monumental banger called “Shyne!” The “Wimbledon Dons” master cut decimates all pretenders to the underground throne by delivering a non-stop audio assault of epic proportions! If you want to experience savagery on the mic & beats that’ll blast ya into next week this joint’s for you. All competitors are steady slippin’ into darkness cause nobody can steal their light!
2) RECOGNIZE ALI x ESTEE NACK “Strike The Shepherd” with untamed lyrical fury over Frank Grimes’ war drums of destruction! The verbal vigilantes lead the charge when it comes to spitting lava laced bars so expect wack emcees to get roasted on an open fire as Ali & Nack dance on their grave! 3) THE ALCHEMIST fuels CONWAY & WESTSIDEGUNN to get on some “’94 Ghost S**t” & the underground will never be the same! Over hardcore sonic opulence, the GxFR generals reinforce their title of “most grimiest” as they eviscerate the monstrous soundscape with a quickness. Lots of artists are out here playing but those Griselda muthaf**kas always get the job done!
4) SEEDxNOTTZ join forces with SAUCE MONEY for a “No Way In Hell” heater called “Yellow Lights”(Aubrey deGrey)! Dope rhymes flow like Ciroc over a soulfully majestic track crafted with care & precision. The MC & the producer have always been two of the illest to ever do the damn thang! Add some special sauce to the mix & witness a new level of underground excellence that will never slow down!
5) O.C. & PF CUTTIN take fans back to “88” with a new “Opium” banger that’s certified dope! You’ll think you’re at the LQ gettin’ down with the I.O.U. dancers as your body starts to gyrate to a frenetic soundscape brimming with Golden Era goodness! O.C. paints a portrait of those bygone days with vivid strokes of creativity that can’t be topped while PF spices up the action with the perfect selection of cuts to set the mood. Step in the musical time machine below & check the sounds!
6) PRECYCE POLITIX & D.R.U.G.S BEATS serve up a dope dish of “Calamari” for the listeners on a funky cut from their “Drug-Politix” project! The MC spits sinister bars over an ominous instrumental arrangement that snuffs out all opposition with ease. You don’t need to have a taste for seafood to enjoy this joint…just an appreciation for the kind of raw, authentic Hip Hop that these two creative titans deliver every time!
7) TAIYAMO DENKU enlists POZLYRIX & the legendary Teacha KRS ONE for a Dcypha powered heater called “Once Again!” The relentlessly funky banger finds the emcees showcasing a range of diverse styles & flows to accentuate the track. Kris sounds particularly impassioned as he shuts down wack lyricists with witty wordplay & bars of brilliance! Taiyamo brings a fun, unhinged take to the proceedings while Pozlyrix spits deadly venom on all suckas who cross his path! Taiyamo & Dcypha are known for bringin’ the heat & once again they emerge with a winner!
8) JOHN JIGG$ x DJ CONCEPT join forces with RECOGNIZE ALI for some “Good Friday” heat called “The Whole Truth!” The laid back gem filters through the speakers with intense frequencies of high-powered soul as John & Ali contribute contrasting vocal deliveries to the mix. John takes a smooth approach to the action while Ali serves it up raw. Both styles make the scorching hot track even hotter! No greater truth has been told.
9) The incredible TRAGEDY KHADAFI is one of the dopest & most underrated emcees on the planet! It’s been a long time coming but the supreme spitter finally gets his due as one of “The Builders” of Hip Hop on the brand new banger “Work In!” Exquisite lyrical jewels are dropped at a rapid pace as The Hood Lazarus gets primal on a gloriously hardcore soundscape! 10) Super producer PROGRAM & bar assassin MOSTRO combine forces as THE LEAGUE to bring “Danger” to the airwaves! The Buffalo, NY duo just dropped an exciting opus called “Us Vs Them” that MUST NOT be missed. There are a HEAVY abundance of sonic gems on the project but the tight rhyme flows, hypnotic rhythms, and outstanding instrumentation kept us coming back to the dope joint below.
