Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Tracks

Seasons come and go but the one thing that lasts forever is top quality Hip Hop! Check out Insomniac Magazine’s Weekly Top Ten and explore the new bangers below!

Be sure to click the graphic and go to this week’s top ten sponsor Doggma Uno Presents Glass Bottom Boat “Definitive: A Year in the Nebula – Winter.” If you’re interested in sponsoring the top ten, send us an email at MLSRVCS at gmail dot com.

1) There was no stopping JAY ROYALE & B.E.N.N.Y THE BUTCHER as they came out blasting on a Ray Sosa laced mega track sprinkled with ill cuts courtesy of DJ GRAZZHOPPA! ‘Heads might like some of the joints that were released this week…but ALL listeners will be completely blown away by the power of “The Iron!” The beats bang & the bars keep flowin.’ Ain’t nobody rhymin’ like them! Check the steez & pay your respects! Jay & Benny go together like teks and 9 shells!

2) LITTLE VIC had everyone salivating for the arrival of “Loosies 2” when he dropped an “Industrial Grade” banger produced by the one & only Buckwild! Once we picked our jaw up off the floor it was time to get into some serious head nod action! The energy was at a fever pitch as Vic’s agile flows cascaded around the boom bap backdrop & sent shockwaves down our spine! This is the sound of REAL Hip Hop y’all! XXL might not promote Vic’s ruffian ways but his roughneck methods suit us just fine!

3) Underground Avenger, RUSTE JUXX, boldly details his origin story on the VStheBEST produced power gem, “Bottom To The Top Go Stetsa!” The “Ready To Juxx” CD bonus cut brings that rough & rugged BK style to the forefront while simultaneously taking us on an emotional journey through the life & career of one of the best spitters on the scene! It’s not easy starting at the bottom but Ruste stays in our Top 10. This dope track demonstrates why!

4) Philadelphia power spitter, LAWRENCE ARNELL, turns up the heat on the Rob Viktum produced pot boiler, “Pressure Cooker!” The “Beast Or Brethren” banger lures listeners into the heart of darkness them tosses them back out onto the cold, unforgiving pavement! Challenging the lyricist is f**king ridiculous…so just quit it! Watch the misfit of this rap s**t take over the game!

5) DAVID BARS & FRED THE GODSON have got it locked everywhere across the Atlantic as they drop new Motif Alumni powered heat called “Don’t Panic!” These emcees didn’t come to take over the block…they came to f**k up the planet!!! You may fear their commanding presence & raw lyricism…but truth be told, if you back down now you still may stand a chance. You’re a mere speck of dust on their quest for world domination. Your cards have been dealt…and you got played!

6) JAY LOVE teamed up with FT of STREET SMARTZ, A.L. SKILLZ & RUSTE JUXX for a mic warriors battle cry called “Watch Ya Step!” The crew emerge on the scene with shanks swingin’ & shotguns blastin’…but spit ‘so official’ that their lyrical artillery is all that’s needed to destroy the competition! Move out the way & respect the kings! Run for cover. The Massacre’s begun!

7) CERTAIN.ONES deliver their always welcome brand of sonic artistry with a brand new joint called “Bob Ross!” FERAL SERGE, BOBBY CRAVES, DZL, and FULLY G are on the check-in as the crew reminisce on painful experiences of the past before jettisoning into the future with a brighter outlook that finds the ultra-creative collective thriving against all odds. There’s an artist hidden in every one of us. Certain.Ones showcase their magnificent colors of expression & lay bare their canvas for all to see!

8) STRO possesses more talent than 98% of his peers. #FACTS. Despite this, he gets no love from an industry heavily invested in promoting an assortment of clowns. On the Homage produced, “Fear Me,” the embattled lyricist ponders the current state of Hip Hop & its unstable landscape. Disillusionment sets in as he compares NY radio stations to the Laugh Factory while determining that his “rap’s too black in this rainbow era.” Stro’s candid nature draws our attention but the dope rhymes keep us listening. We know he’s facing an uphill climb to success. But don’t wait for him to reach the mountaintop before you start cheering him on!

9) ROME STREETZ x SLEEP SINATRA bring “Wreckage” to the opposition with a slow burn master cut that reignites the power of the underground! The Historian sets the scene that propels the street pharmacists into action! Dope beats & rhymes are carefully packaged for another successful transaction! Now it’s time to re-up! Everything that glitters ain’t a gem…but this track is one shining example of Hip Hop music at its best!

10) LORENZO NIL joined forces with JIGGIE JOE to make the kind of heat you’d think would be illegal because it sounds so good! “My Type Of Vibe” is one of those smooth, laid back gems that you’ll keep in your personal rotation due to its soulful grooves and magnetic lyricism. Feel good music lasts forever. It’s My Type Of Vibe & I’m certain it’ll be yours too!

Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
