Insomniac Magazine’s Weekly Hip Hop Top Ten 4/30/18

Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Releases

Insomniac Magazine hits you with underground heat for another week! Check out the latest Top 10 below!

1) FALCONCREST topped the charts last week with “Ryu & Ken” and this week they do it again! “Badmind” is a one of a kind gem that benefits from smooth, superior flows and Giallo Point’s compellingly menacing soundscape! The entire vibe feels like 007 touching down in the Caribbean for a little late night spy action that promises to be deadly! Comin’ thru at the speed of dark, Falconcrest reign supreme!

2) ANKHLEJOHN launches into “Ankh Nasty” action with the Vinyl Villain powered banger, “Eternal Life!” If there’s anyone who can revive the Hip Hop underground it’s the raspy-voiced spitter who skates on a b**ch like Thrasher! Listen to the lyrical craftsmanship. Soak up the solid production. Ankhlejohn’s got the game on lock!

3) The underground power trio of POUNDS, DANIEL SON, & CRIMEAPPLE do damage to a Max Marciano laced heater called “55K!” Daniel Son sets things off by detailing how much his life has changed in a brief period of time. No surprise there ’cause the BBM superstar’s been snatching crowns since DAY ONE! Crimeapple follows up with his trademark brand of bar heavy audio opulence before Pounds caps off the whole affair with gritty, unforgiving lyrics that command respect! 55K isn’t even a rough estimate of their value to the culture. Let’s begin the conversation at 100 million or more!

4) ROYALZ hits the ground running with a powerful CONWAY feature on his “Live 95” street heater, “Bundles!” The production maverick revs up the intensity on a dope track that connects like a blunt object to the back of the head as The Machine floats across the terrain with ease!

5) ESTEE NACK, PHYBAOPTIKZ, & FLASHIUS CLAYTON showcase their invincibility in the booth with a sonic force of destruction called “Bulletproof!” The Historian doesn’t let up on the heat, enabling the emcees to express direct, varied attacks on the mic! Trigger happy haters take aim with verbal shots to the gut. Nack, Phyba, and Flashius laugh off their weak advances as the crew stands tall!

6) RALPHIIE REESE channels powerful emotion while transmitting nostalgic vibes on a soulful street heater called “Check The Lesson, Pt. II!” The Dart Unit rhyme assassin flexes platinum flows as his pen game elevates to new heights. Ralphiie runs laps around your favorite rapper and keeps shinin’ for the world to see. If you slept on him before you know better now. Lesson learned!

7) MIKE L!VE enters the arena with an explosive self-produced banger titled “It’s The Beat!” Dope rhymes flow freely as Hip Hop rides shotgun with an ill lyricist who’s firmly in the driver’s seat of the culture! Respect the skills & brace yourself for the heat!

8) FORTIFIED MIND drops an insane amount of top shelf bars over a Devize powered soundscape on “The Stoned Ape Theory!” Possessing tireless energy & the kind of laser focus few emcees can tap into, the Certain.Ones phenomenon demonstrates why he shouldn’t & never will be overlooked on the underground scene! Keep checking for more from this rising lyricist. The Stoned Ape Theory is next level entertainment. Pure FACTS!

9) SENICA DA MISFIT stirs up an underground uproar with a “Poetic Ruckus” banger featuring MR. CREAM & DJ GRAZZHOPPA called “Straight From The Grain!” The 2 spitters terrorize the track with heartless bars that make the Holocaust look like a picnic! It’s a joint all hip hop heads will appreciate. Any opposition in their path can feel the pain!!!

10) ANKHLEJOHN lands a second well-deserved slot on the countdown with the title track to his “Ankh Nasty” project! The funky Hooligan laced gem will keep your head nodding as the impassioned MC drops exclusive, futuristic rhymes that shut down the wack s**t you’ve been listening to! Check in with a legend in the making & get NASTY!!!

Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
