Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Releases

Insomniac Magazine supplies new Hip Hop heat with the latest edition of the Weekly Top Ten! Check out the underground adventure on the action-packed list below!

1) V DON amped up the “No Blade Of Grass” audio excitement by enlisting ESTEE NACK, DANIEL SON & ANKHLEJOHN for a brazen barfest called “3 Days Ago!” The rhyme warriors never back down from a confrontation. They bring sharp mic skills to the arena & emerge on the battlefield with treacherous verses that force the competition to run back home to mommy! None of this could be possible without V Don’s all-consuming sonic backdrop! He ratchets up the intensity and delivers another win!

2) COUSIN FEO x LORD JUCO celebrate the athletes who fell short of receiving the illustrious “Ballon D’or” with an 11 track platter that had our staff cheering in the stands! One of the most powerful highlights from the project is the HOBGOBLIN crafted “’02 Roberto Carlos” which strides across the playing field with triumphant horns & bold bars of glory! DJ DUBPLATES keeps things hot on the 1 & 2’s as the deadly duo give us a head-noddin’ history lesson in 3 minutes flat. The lyrical champions take out their rivals with phenomenal flows & witty wordplay that can’t be beat. Get your season pass for sonic excitement & check out the action below!

3) Bar assassin B.A. BADD & production renegade REALLYHIIIM join forces with the OG himself, SHA HEF, to drop a sinister pot boiler called “Plate Scrapers!” The “Really HIM”(No prophets in your backyard)banger suffuses throughout the set like poisonous gas that infiltrates your lungs & drags you straight to the grave! B.A. & Sha spit some raw, guttural ish that you can’t help but feel! They bring a feast of ill lyrics to the table and feed the entire block! You’re still rhymin’ cat with sat while the crew’s plotting a global takeover. To paraphrase Tupac: “Everybody rap! But THEY do business!!!”

4) DON STREAT kicks off his upcoming “Streat Status” project the RIGHT way by recruiting underground kings RECOGNIZE ALI, MAYHEM of EMS & DJ GRAZZHOPPA for the M.W.P. laced heat blast “24 Hours!” The speaker-shattering power gem showcases Don, Ali, & Mayhem spitting acid flows that melt the mics of the weak opposition who wield them! As the trifecta burn down the booth, DJ Grazzhoppa ignites the wheels of steel with a stellar display of scratches & cuts. You’ll be playing this joint for the next 24 hours. Tap in & keep it on REPEAT!

5) Ain’t no time for child’s play ’cause INNOCENT?, STAN DA MAN, & KOOL TAJ THE GR8 are bringin’ some “Grown Man Rap” to your area! “G.M.R.” is one of those joints that wastes no time gettin’ right down to business! The “Seven” sizzler instantly explodes into action with Stan’s propulsive production and the dope tag team interplay between two of the most exciting MCs in the game! Representin’ that REAL ish is what the crew is all about! They bodied this Top 10 list with no hope of recovery!!!

6) RIM x VINYL VILLAIN dropped the ill “Poetic Substance” concept EP(revolving around scenes & samples from the classic film “Poetic Justice”)last week & immediately caught our attention with the cinematic masterwork “Watch Ya Moves Pt. 1!” The mic ripper digs deep into his storytelling bag to regale listeners with a darkly humorous crime tale that owes as much to (circa 1994 “Ready To Die”) Biggie as it does to Martin Scorsese. DJ DEADEYE accents the score with sonic flourishes to amp up the action. You better watch ya moves & respect the skills!

7) ETO continues to grace us with new music & “The Beauty Of It” is that there’s no end in sight! Speaking of NO, that’s the name of this track because let’s face it, there’s no stopping him when he gets on the mic! FLEE LORD & GRAFH join him for his latest drop & bring their hardest bars to the set! ILLIEN ROSEWELL provides that bounce to make us turn the f’d up while the street spitters remind us they’re a serious threat!

8) FLEE LORD x SNYP LIFE cruise across a magnificently produced DJ SHAY laced banger called “We Mobbin’!” The “Lucky 13” smash hit rattles the whole arena with a monstrous beat & on-point elocution that’s greatly appreciated in these days of mumble-rap & electro-pop “Hip Hop!” When they perform the room’s so crowded you can’t see the damn stage! Experience a sold-out show in the comfort of your very own home. Prop your feet up on the couch & PRESS PLAY!

9) KILLY SHOOT x ONAJE JORDAN drop some “Heavy Math” on you mental zombies with a primal power heater called “Excel!” Onaje keeps the sonic landscape as minimalistic as possible while Killy performs verbal somersaults over the hard-driving beat! The lyrically dexterous mic assassin delivers a deadly diatribe against his enemies while providing some serious history to back up the threats! Killy’s been through hell & emerged from the fire unscathed. When #Hometeam hit the studio all opposition cower in defeat!

10) G FAM BLACK, PRYME PROLIFIK & I.N.F. bumrush the scene with wildly diverse rhyme styles over a TONE BEATZ powered sonic explosion called “The Gentlemen!” G sets off the verbal attack with a monstrous vocal presence that sounds like he could chew up every rapper who steps to him, swallow ’em whole, and spit them out onto the pavement. Pryme follows next with an agile flow brimming with electricity & a tone reminiscent of Brand Nubian legend Sadat X while I.N.F. steals the show by summoning up the spirit of the late, great Gravediggaz lyrical genius Poetic. The mic ripper pays homage to the Grym Reaper’s incomparable cadence while adding enough of a unique spin to make the whole extravaganza his own! If you battle these emcees be prepared to get ripped apart. They’re gentlemen in the boardroom but pure savages on the mic!

Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
