Insomniac Magazine’s Weekly Hip Hop Top Ten 6/13/22

Don’t Sleep On These New Releases

Insomniac Magazine hits ya wit’ a hellafied list featuring 2 Harbor Kidz dominating the chart! Tap in to the Top 10 below!!!

1) JAMIL HONESTY & SQUEEGIE O got the countdown on lock with HARBOR KIDZ heat laced by HOBGOBLIN!!! On a project packed with wall-to-wall bangers, “Lockman Ave” stood out for the duo’s electric lambasting of their rivals & H.G’s supreme wave of sonic nostalgia. It’s the perfect way to kick off the action so ya know they had to claim the top spot!!!

2) “Breakfast In Hradec” can’t come soon enough as CRIMEAPPLE & DJ SKIZZ soar to new heights with “In Flight!” Who can seriously compete with the lyrical king & production juggernaut when they deliver manna from the gods like this?!? Immaculate bars. A flawless soundscape. AND a clever sing-song chorus that doesn’t suck. Count us in muthaf***as. COUNT. US. IN.

3) DETHWZRD has put in so much work on his “Fall On Deth Ears” project that he could retire at this point and collect a massive producers pension for his incredible efforts! Hopefully that won’t happen anytime soon because the MOOCH featured sizzler “Taking All Yours” is a clear indication he could reign supreme forever!!! Da Cloth’s heavy hittin,’ high-energy lyricist cascades across D.W’s kingdom of funk with ease & the underground’s right there with him. Y’all might be in a giving mood today but they’re taking everything ya got when they catch you outside!!!

4) SCARR x PLANET ASIA put ’em up on the “Mandela Effect” when they spark a lyrical revolution on the RENJI 56 powered banger! The soldiers of war in the battle for the underground rejuvenate the industry with a heavy does of audio artillery! Get down wit’ the movement & follow the leaders below!!!

5) JOSH ALIAS gives it to ya straight up…”No Politics” involved! The URBVN ARCHITECTS rhyme assassin settles into the moody atmosphere & drops so many gems he’ll garner your respect instantaneously! They say the underground’s dead? Well, f**k your eulogy cause Josh Alias keeps it alive!!!

6) HARBOR KIDZ link up with SICKINTHEHEAD for more HOBGOBLIN crafted audio excitement called “Ferry Boat Music!” The S.I. sensations get down to business & stir s**t up with a barrage of lethal bars that explode on impact! Bring your lady down to get her shoes shined before they wax that ass right out of commission!!!

7) The music industry’s a circus so KOOL TAJ THE GR8 & TONE SPLIFF shut down the “Rap Clowns” with a quickness!!! The hardcore heater reverberates throughout the underground with a magnitude no Richter Scale could ever measure!!! Taj slaps all suckers into submission while Tone terminates everything in his path!!

8) ROME STREETZ x ROYALZ keep the opposition off balance on “Empire State Haze!” The mafioso inspired machinations of living the high life are brought back down to earth by the vivid realness of Rome’s stellar rhymes & Royalz’ subtle but effective sound design! The city can be a dark place to navigate. Listen to this track & learn how to maneuver!

9) HARBOR KIDZ & SUPREME CEREBRAL are like Christ-like figures who manifest miracles within the underground landscape. Take for example, the otherworldly flows each MC conjures on the rapturously soulful sizzler “Rep,” produced by DOZA THE DRUM DEALER! When you think of a joint that will stand the test of time, it’s evident this track will be high on the list. Too many rappers “copy Westside when they still can’t reach close to his left side.” Well, these MCs got a style all their own!!!

10) JAMIL HONESTY & SQUEEGIE OBLONG ignited the action on this week’s list & they’re bringin’ it to a close as well! HARBOR KIDZ join forces with seriously talented, savage spitter SEAN LINKS for a sobering overview of life in the streets on “Obi Strip!” Jamil does the production honors himself and layers the atmosphere with a solemn tone of dread & hopelessness. Time is runnin’ out…but the(soon to be)globally heralded Harbor Kidz appear to be pickin’ up a mantle left behind by the legendary Mobb Deep!!!

Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
