Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Releases
So much heat dropped at the END of the week that major spillover into next week’s countdown is all but assured. In the meantime, Insomniac Magazine delivers another batch of chart-shattering underground hits on the latest edition of the Weekly Top 10. Check out the creative fathers of ill lyrical styles on the brand new list below!
1) GENERALBACKPAIN x FLU have PLENTY of high octane action in store for you with the upcoming release of their “Bovine” collabo project. You really have NO IDEA what you’re in for but as a sampling of things to come they dropped the LUPUS DEI, CHUCK CHAN, DEUCE HENNESSY & KILLY SHOOT featured audio blast “Offal!” First off, the level of talent on this joint is off the charts & it’s clear if there was a number above #1 that’s where they would reside. Flu pulls out so many sonic treats from his bag of tricks that ordinary emcees might find the track impossible to connect with & make it their own. Fortunately these guys are FAR from average. They’re the #hometeam heavy hitters who are runnin’ the town!
2) RJ PAYNE lyrically eviscerates the “Villa” beat from Daringer’s “Baker’s Dozen” project & transforms it into a dope joint of his own called “Purge Night!” If you still haven’t recognized Payne as one of the best emcees of modern times you’ve probably been unconscious for a few years…and in that case we understand. Otherwise, you need to get acquainted with the new BSF signee ASAP & the place to get started is here. RJ’s hittin’ the streets up HARD. All wack emcees will be terminated. The competition doesn’t stand a chance!
3) DNTE teams up with LORD JUCO for DrkTheLegend laced sonic magic called “Goldfish Le Million!” It’s “Crystal Pianos” all day as the duo throw bodies in the trunk while bodying the beat with no mercy! The track possesses a sprawling intensity sprinkled with cinematic flourishes that enhance the action to even greater heights of achievement. The rebellious mic rippers bob & weave around the A-class arrangements before making a direct hit to the dome with a spectacular representation of underground Hip Hop at its finest!
4) ESTEE NACK x AL.DIVINO x ICON CURTIES leave the pot boiling on the ultimate collabo heater “Stove Top!” Instead of standard boom bap production, Curties gives the lyricists an entire film score to rhyme over! Nack & Divino are two of the greatest lyricists in the game, so of course they attack the track with a double dose of unhinged ferocity! Ain’t no sunshine in this part of town but the block is always hot. If you thought ya knew what they were cookin’ up in the kitchen you might want to take a second look!
5) CERTAIN.ONES always serve up a higher level of Hip Hop. This week we took an arduous uphill journey until we found sonic relief on the “13th Floor.” DZL, BOBBY CRAVES, FERAL SERGE, THE WIZ, KILLY SHOOT, JIMMI DA GRUNT, REIGN SUPREME, GUTTAMOUF, FORTIFIED MIND, VERSES., DALI & NETO were all there slaughtering mics over a DEVIZE crafted furnace of blistering HEAT! The verbal gymnastics on display will provide you with a cardio workout through osmosis! When your heart rate goes up & your blood starts pumping faster you’ll pray that the party never ends.
6) Mic ripper RASHEED CHAPPELL x production overlord GIALLO POINT combine forces for a dream-like power gem called “The Oath.” The ill lyricist reflects on his ascent in the industry while ruminating over fallen allies who will never witness his rise in the flesh. Despite that, their life & times will continue to live on through his rhymes. Considering his prodigious gifts for lyricism they would be honored.
7) DNTE, DANIEL SON, FALCON OUTLAW & SAIPHER SOZE deliver a treasure trove of lyrical jewels on the supremely soulful audio masterpiece “Drop Acid!” Nicholas Craven is the brilliant architect of impassioned production who keeps the sonic reservoir filled with life-affirming rhythms on this “Crystal Pianos” standout cut. Fronted by a powerfully urgent vocal sample, the master spitters proceed to drop mind-bending bars that transport us to unexplored cosmic realms of thought. Take a thrilling trip to new horizons & open your mind to the High Heat experience!
8) BUBU THE PRINCE x NEMS move militant…so fall in line as they smack flames out your ass!!! On the Syer powered banger “Rilla Music” the hardcore heavyweights pull no punches. Bubu delivers New Crack Era excitement by ending your entire career while NEMS injects ya with a lethal dose of fentanyl laced lyricism to put you out of your misery! Beat your chest & play this loud! The kings of the concrete jungle have arrived!
9) SWAB x EVOLVE team up with MASTA ACE to remind the competition that catching up to them is no easy feat. In fact, their rivals are so “Far Behind” them that it’s almost pathetic! The triumphant soundscape preceding the majestic rhymes signal that royalty has entered the booth. No one is safe when Evolve & Masta Ace rip the mic! The lyrical onslaught & bombardment of dope beats epitomize what Hip Hop is all about! Swab, Evolve & Masta Ace hop in the ride & see you in their rearview mirror. You’re so far behind the action that nothing you could ever say or do will make your lyrics count.
10) WHISPERS x NEMS take listeners back to the “Golden Era” with a Biggie sampling mega banger laced by Khardier Da God. The deadly duo give ya that “rusty razorblade renegade s**t” which translates to uncut, raw bars like the ones you used to rewind in the 90’s! When your favorite tape popped you rushed out to cop another one…and if that one got swallowed up you copped another one after that! Each lyric spit represented something of value. Whispers & NEMS make us remember the time with a dose of dope rhymes.
