Insomniac Magazine’s Weekly Hip Hop Top Ten 7/12/21

Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Releases

Insomniac Magazine was hit with a dizzying display of stellar material this week (much of it even after we completed the list)! What that means is you can expect Grade-A greatness on the Top 10 this go round. So get yourself amped & make sure to tap in!

1) FASTLIFE engages in a rapid-fire rhyme release as he proceeds to “Set It Off” on a RED WALRUS & DYLLEMMA powered production! The illest bars are launched from the lyrical kingpin’s larynx and explode on impact when they breach the inner circle of the underground! Set yourself up for a full blast of audio action. It leads to a payoff that you won’t soon forget!

2) If you’re discussing the dopest MCs on the planet & your crew asks “Who’s That?” ya say SOPHISTICATED SAVAGE & BREEZE BREWIN of course!!! YAHZEED, WHITEOWL & RHINOCEROS FUNK join forces with THE JUGGAKNOTS General to eradicate all competition as they cruise thru the underground on a HAROLD URENA helmed high seas adventure! SILENT SOMEONE steers the sound waves toward maximum satisfaction while the admirals of audio excellence navigate the triumphant track to victory!

3) SUPREME CEREBRAL maneuvers through the complex configurations of a DIRTYDIGGS joint like a chess master plotting intricate moves on the board! “Dirty Supreme” finds Bugzy Nino delivering an amazing array of hardcore lyrical gems over a jubilant arrangement that feels right at home amidst the sweltering summer season. Experience a straight up raw sonic gem for the listeners. Here’s to another “Dirty Cerebral” smash that completely knocks it out the park!

4) THE HERETIC & PLAGUE MAGICIAN apply their musical wizardry to a SULLYNOMAD featured sizzler called “Stone Garden Sundays!” Pen Clemente departs civilization for a nightmarish expedition through the woods and encounters snakes, wolves, and demons aplenty. He conquers all elements with ease before trekking off to new treacherous terrain. Check out a stone cold hit from the ultra-talented trifecta of terror!!!

5) THE QUARTER INCH KINGS & ZAGNIF NORI travel with KING AUTHOR to the “Glistening Cascades!” Conjuring enough lavish lyricism to last a lifetime, the magnificent mic slayers set sail for an audio adventure of epic proportions! A wondrous waterfall of sound await all who embark on the journey. Gear up for excitement & come ride the wave!

6) MELLY-MEL & TONE SPLIFF bring back the art of storytelling on their “New People” sonic blast “Just Another Day!” Over a seriously stellar groove that sounds like Hanna-Barbera meets P-Funk, the South African power spitter gets animated while droppin’ his captivating tale from the hood. It might be Just Another Day around the way but this right here’s no ordinary track!!!

7) Rhyme warrior PASSPORT RAV wins the battle for Hip Hop supremacy on “AYUKEN!” The MEGALA DON crafted heat rock showcases the lyrical champion defending the honor of the underground while effortlessly defeating his opponents. Many rivals attempted to end Rav’s glorious reign but no man can derail an unstoppable force of nature!!!!

8) H STAX & PF CUTTIN bring that “Black Boy Magic” to the underground via ill verses & a wealth of production heat! Savage bars pierce the atmosphere and coalesce with sonic fireworks to send major shockwaves throughout the entire industry! It’s a conjuring of the highest order that can’t be duplicated. They’ll shred your set & cast a spell on the listeners!

9) People underestimated 8CH2OWENS’ lyrical savagery until he unleashed his full rage on “Cuban Hugh Jackman!” The Miami, Florida mic ripper tapped into his inner mutant and attacked TALI RODRIGUEZ’s volcanic heater with the merciless wrath of a beast in the wild. In this case, Wolverine is the predator. Don’t get on the MC’s bad side or he’ll make you his prey!

10) JULEUNIQUE x KIZA bring both style AND substance to the underground on brand new heat called “Avirex Era!” The “Designer Rap” gem is a whirlwind of lyrical and production supremacy that serves as a reminder of what should really matter to the culture. If you’re only chasin’ dollars and dismissing the artistry of the genre why even bother entering the industry at all?

Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON”T SLEEP!
