2) When following in the footsteps of Carlito, you better get a good lawyer! ETO taps into the shady machinations of “David Kleinfeld” to usher in his homecoming to those cruel, unforgiving streets! 5) M.C.F & HXLYSMXKES possess a secret weapon & that my friends is JAMIL HONESTY! On “Enoch Pratt” the elite rhyme slinger is “killin’ them sonically” while his lyrical comrades deliver meticulous bars of steel! The crew’s conquering ANYTHING they come in contact with. It’s doomsday & you don’t stand a chance.
6) Yep, DANIEL SON, Dj DUKE & DJ LOW CUT’s got another winner! The sinister “Season 7” heater “Felicia” prompted our paranoia with its dope beat & dark bassline conjured by DJ Duke! We slept with one eye open after listening to Daniel Son’s harrowing tales of life on the Ave & you will too! ‘Better keep your circle real tight…or you won’t live to see tomorrow!
7) SNOTTY hasn’t slept in days & you’ll feel as though you’re right there in the trenches with him as he tells ya ’bout the life on the ITRAK produced banger “F*** You!” Ever seem like the walls are closing in on you? That’s why we’re proud to put you up on the phenomenal opus “Bully” & one of it’s most coveted gems “Me Time!” Wally gives no f***s on this project and it sounds so damn good! Hobgoblin helps liberate him from any excess emotional baggage by delivering the illest, unabashed beats to propel the microphone fiend’s malicious intent! If you listen to this & punch your best friend in the face Wally would surely approve. This is hardcore head nod s**t to pump up loud! Swing a sledgehammer through the wall & piss off your neighbor!
10) Every week we hit ya with a Top 10 which means every week we dig through 500 or more joints to narrow things down to the list you see before you. Sometimes we ask ourselves why we put ourselves through the torture…but NIVEK.B & JAY 58 reminded us what we’re doing this for with a passionate, uptempo heater that reignited the joy we’ve amassed from the culture throughout the years. The “project 4XL” highlight “For Hip Hop” instantly made us smile with its animated intensity & high class acknowledgement of the innovators who paved the way for the thriving underground landscape of today.
