Don’t Sleep On These New Releases
Insomniac Magazine celebrates the 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop by bringing you underground gems that will still be heralded 100 years down the line! Get yourself in gear & check out our Weekly Top Ten!
1) RECOGNIZE ALI is forcing the competition to reassess their career as he delivers the third unbeatable banger from his upcoming “ALI” opus! “Hell Knows” why anyone would imagine they could come close to this level of lyrical brilliance but some suckers are slow on the take! Of course SOUL CHEMIST is manning the boards for this production masterwork & together they’ll unseat every false pretender to the throne!
2) AL-DOE & TREE MASON are all about the paper. END OF DISCUSSION. On the SPANISH RAN laced banger “Bloody Money,” the sinister spitters drive the point home by droppin’ verses about dangerous maneuvers that led them along the path to the cash! Hand the loot over & there won’t be no trouble or best believe, there will be hell to pay!
3) ELOH KUSH & RECKONIZE REAL join forces with RANSOM, NUCCI REYO, LEFT GUNNZ & DJ IVES for an unabashed audio heater called “Jersey Down!” This joint should be declared the OFFICIAL anthem of the Garden State because of the way these mic juggernauts represent to the fullest! New York may get most of the shine due to its global influence but Jersey’s where ya go when it’s time to get down & dirty!
4) ROME STREETZ blasts ya like Benny Blanco while flexin’ over an enigmatic BHRAMABULL fueled arrangement called “Ghost Biscuit!” The “Evolution 4” audio heater is further evidence of the lyrical king’s dominance on the scene and as witnessed below he has no plans of loosening up his chokehold on the game! Each time Rome rhymes Hip Hop’s existence is extended! Salute to Bhrama & Streetz for the powerful collabo!
5) AGASAKI LO’s “Learned Myself” is the latest “Agasaki 13” sizzler to take over the Top 10! Ag’s precision to detail should never be disregarded because every element of his production and lyricism is always at its peak! Let the insistent piano arrangement draw you in while the rhymes put ya up on game you wouldn’t know otherwise!
6) When we saw BRADY WATT’s CONWAY THE MACHINE & TALIB KWELI featured gem “Without You” in our inbox we had no idea how euphoric it would make us feel the second we hit PLAY. We loved the Yacht Rock meets Hip Hop vibe of the joint along with the smooth chorus & Conway’s rhymes..but it’s Talib who took the prize for ill quotable: “Your story bore me/I forgot the plot/plus it’s full of holes/like when my youngest try to convince me that Crocs is hot” that let us know we would be rewinding this joint for all eternity!
7) A.P. DA OVERLORD & JUXX DIAMONDZ join forces on a powerful ALEJANDRITO ARGENAL crafted gem called “Killa Sin!” The emotionally charged sizzler feels like the deadly duo bumrushed the stage during a dramatic scene from Evita: The Musical & transformed it into a 1990’s hood flick!!! The lyrical assassins put in some serious work in the booth to deliver one helluva dope track! They’re a two man wrecking crew who can destroy an entire battalion before bringin’ in reinforcements from an entire Killarmy!
8) CERTAIN.ONES smash suckers to pieces and dissolve all your career aspirations on a brand new joint called “Disintegration!” FERAL SERGE, BOBBY CRAVES & REIGN MFN SUPREME go full throttle in the booth as they blast a CHEF MIKE soundscape into oblivion! Heighten your senses and enlighten the masses to a crew that’s always got their pulse on the Hip Hop underground!
9) If you’re having “Evil Thoughts” PAZUZU are most likely lurking in your area! G FAM BLACK is on some ill “Black David Koresh” type s**t as he shoots up the charts with THE HERETIC & PLAGUE MAGICIAN!!! The combined force of the underground titans adds up to a thriller of a track designed to torment the opposition! We played this one time then kept it on REPEAT for the whole f**kin’ day!
10) Where would underground Hip Hop be without BHRAMABULL? Let’s also pose the same question and apply it to GUILTY SIMPSON! The answer is that the genre would be sorely lacking in quality which means we wouldn’t get a top tier track like the “Blizzard Of 22!” This is the laid back steez that fits in perfectly with your late night rotation as you kick back & reflect on good times. Fly lyrics & stellar production are all you need to put your mind at ease. Close your eyes and soak in the magic.
Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
