Insomniac Magazine’s Weekly Hip Hop Top Ten 8/2/21

Don’t Sleep On These New Releases

Insomniac Magazine delivers a new underground explosion on this week’s edition of The Weekly Top Ten! Gear yourself up for action & check out the list below!

1) TERMANOLOGY, SHEEK LOUCH & LIL FAME return to the scene of the crime on the AMADEUS 360 powered “Black Mask Pt. 2!” If you liked what you heard on the first go ’round (and who didn’t?!?) you’ll love the way they smack ya senseless on the sequel! Amadeus admirably picks up the reins from Dame Grease and crafts a mountain of sonic heat that’s seemingly impenetrable! The three titans of lyricism form like Voltron & blast a massive hole into the entire GOTDAMN TRACK!!!

2) EFF YOO, SKYZOO & LEX conjured New York imagery so perfectly on “NYC Subway Fights” that they transformed our home office into the 1 train!!! None of this could be possible without sonic mastermind COLE JAMES CASH who meticulously incorporated a wealth of Rotten Apple ambiance into the track! It’s a “Sunset On Sunset” standout containing an atmosphere instantly familiar to all native city dwellers…and for any out of towners it might serve as a warning to stay away!!!

3) Two of CERTAIN.ONES’ mightiest members merge into one incredible entity called CRAVENETO!!! On “Emerald City,” BOBBY CRAVES & MOOKNETO enter a wondrous world conceived by GREENDUTCH. But instead of a Yellow Brick Road, gold & platinum plaques supposedly lead the pathway to success. Our heroes say “f**k that noise” and set Oz aflame until the corporate wizards meet their makers! They veer the industry away from all the fake s**t and bring REAL Hip Hop back home!

4) PRO DILLINGER drops hardcore bars over a spectacular FINN laced soundscape called “Hunting Grounds!” The “Pray For My Prey” power heater showcases a savage verbal onslaught from the lyrical sniper. In fact, anyone within immediate breathing distance will surely be the target of his wrath. Pro is quickly gaining a reputation for eviscerating all opposition on the underground. Stay on his good side or you’ll soon become one of the hunted!!!

5) The first rule of Fight Club is don’t talk about Fight Club but the first rule of being a “pharmaceutical engineer” is “Don’t Ride With The Drugs!!!” DJ MUGGS & HOLOGRAM link up with ACTION BRONSON for “American Cheese” audio heat that explodes from the speakers & runs rampant throughout your apartment!!! Hologram & Bronson rip raw rhymes for their hungry fans while Muggs delivers a full plate of dope production to dive into!!!

6) RU$H & JAY NICE return with that smooth, lyrical lavishness on the “Famili 2” sizzler “Showdown With The Michelin Star Chef!” High class bars are traded back & forth as the dazzling duo cascade around the lush composition and finesse every party they enter. Cruise with the kings on a yacht & join in the fun. It’s a special event that never has to end!

7) SLIK JACK & G FAM BLACK make the competition walk the plank on a SQREEB laced audio attack called “Execution!” The bloodthirsty bar slayers ambush the off-kilter arrangement and weave comically horrific tales that will forever be etched in your memory! Some twisted souls listen to music before they commit a murder. With this ill joint you get the best of both worlds.

8) Most MCs aspire to greatness but RECOGNIZE ALI is truly a “Legend In The Making!” On the JUSTIN COHEN featured sizzler, BRISK FINGAZ crafts a hypnotically compelling soundscape that will illuminate your nights & brighten up your day. Ali contributes a tour de force display of dope bars and well-earned bravado that will leave fans breathless & completely blown away!

9) BOBBY CRAVES & MOOKNETO are “Twinning” on COOL OUT CHRIS crafted CRAVENETO action that adds up to a double display of uproarious audio excitement! It’s GO TIME as the team tap into their internal mic beast & unleash it into the wilds of the underground! With the same goals in mind they upend all expectations and shock the senses of the public at large!!!

10) G FAM BLACK & CRACK SIZZLACK have the opposition dancing like “Mexican Jumpin Beans” as they spray the set on a menacing “Brocky Marciano” sizzler! If a Hitchcock flick were shot in the hood, this would be the title cut for the soundtrack! G Fam creeps around Crack’s foreboding sonic flourishes and strangles the life out of anyone who stumbles in the way!!!

Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
