Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Releases
Insomniac Magazine sets sail for a new underground expedition. Traverse the rugged trail of Top 10 excitement & check out the list below!
1) BUCKWILD creates compilations that are comparable to priceless sculptures in a museum. The revered producer places so much creativity into his material that you have no choice but to listen in awe. On his latest platter, “Music Is My Religion,” one of the MANY standouts showcases mic gods PLANET ASIA x HUS KINGPIN blazin’ the booth on “Asian Kingpins.” Other than obvious reasons, the track’s aptly named because The east asian influence informs the entire sonic landscape. P.A. delivers pearls of wisdom while Hus spits lascivious lyricism. It all adds up to a masterclass in the underground. Pay attention cause school is in session!
2) LORD JUCO & COUSIN FEO hit musical milestones on the solo tip & together they’re just plain unstoppable! Back in DEATH AT THE DERBY mode, the deadly duo victoriously body a VAGO track called “Milano Hov!” The synergy between the lyricists is as impressive as ever. They spit molten lava bars that melt the mic while Vago elevates the audio intensity. Accolades are consistently given to the team & it’s not difficult to see why. They might not be gods but they work god damn hard!
3) RECOGNIZE ALI plays “Russian Roulette” with the competition but listeners are clearly the winner! Powered by BRISK FINGAZ production(that includes clever sound bites from the Samuel Jackson flick “187”) Ali pulls the lyrical trigger and comes out unscathed every time. His rivals however aren’t so lucky. They enter to battle but end up with a hole in the head.
4) In this game of Hip Hop, you must possess “Heightened Senses” to navigate around all the treachery that’s bound to come your way. DANIEL SON, ASUN EASTWOOD & FUTUREWAVE are already ahead of the curve so they drop knowledge on the uninformed with new “Bite The Bullet” heat. The moody sonic terrain is just the kind of unpredictability that the MCs thrive on. They get the jump on the opposition & savagely beat ’em down!
5) THE QUARTER INCH KINGS x ZAGNIF NORI are “Iron Kings” dwelling within a plastic industry. It takes a lot of confidence & willpower to stick to their hardcore aesthetic but the crew do so without compromise. Zagnif shines on every project he appears on & triumphs again with upper echelon lyricism. The Quarter Inch Kings bring their unique production to the party. They come equipped with royal arrangements that rule the underground set.
6) PRO ZAY x TIMEPIECE leave you face down in the gutter with new “Alley Muzik” titled “25!” The raspy rhyme renegade wreaks vengeance on the mic as he spits venom over Timepiece’s rollicking sonic landscape. The song takes us back to a time when rhymes were the last thing on Pro’s mind…and the only thing he was doin’ was dirt. You may have been havin’ a good time back in the day but Pro was ’round the corner waitin’ to rob you.
7) FLEE LORD isn’t just an insanely ill lyrical savage. He’s also an inspiring success story with the power to “Motivate The Real!” 38 SPESH fuels the entire affair with a solemn “Light My Fire” styled groove you can sit back & vibe out to. Flee then showcases unyielding passion in the booth & reflects on the brilliance of Fred The Godson. If you’re at the end of your rope take a breath and start over. Search for track #7 & promptly PRESS PLAY!
8) GENERALBACKPAIN displays his amazing one/two punch of dope vocals & ill pen game power on the ONAJE JORDAN crafted “Wet Work” extravaganza “Absatruthly II!” Listening to GBP flexing over a sprawling piano-laden landscape is the highest level of sonic insanity & we’re here for every minute of it! When Home Team come to the table they always come correct. Get sprayed with this three minute heater then tap into the full platter below!
9) GRIFF/SCORCESE & EDDIE KAINE transform the streets into an amphitheatre of audio excitement for their collabo banger “DETLEF!” Scorcese Lorde Jones & Eddie spaz out on a mountainous mega blast of sonic heat that Griff appears to generate from the very essence of his eternal soul. The rhymes are unconventional, unhinged, and amount to an all-around good time! The competition might not love ’em but fans of the underground will keep coming back for more!
10) Should we leave you with a banger? You KNOW how we get down! GHOST OF THE MACHINE x WEAPON E.S.P are two of the greatest rising lyricists in the game…so the last thing you need to remember before gettin’ back to your lives is this DJ PROOF produced heater featuring DJ GRAZZHOPPA! “Bonds & McGuire” is the first arrival from the Savageland duo’s upcoming “Juice Headz” project and it hits a home run in terms of sonic satisfaction! One of the most compelling things about this crew is the lyrical complexity embedded within every bar. Another notable attribute is their commanding presence in the booth. It’s Hip Hop on steroids. Bet on this team to win!
Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
