Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Releases
Behold ye faithful Insomniacs! It’s time for another edition of the Weekly Top 10! Check out the audio excitement & explore the underground action below!
1) FORTIFIED MIND & BOBBY CRAVES kick off cataclysmic waves of lyrical exhilaration over WANN SKLOBI’s covert operation of sonic supremacy! Yep, CERTAIN.ONES are back…and it’s time to cash in on the fun with “Loyalty Check!” It’s full steam ahead as the crew frequently reduce your frequency then ramp things up for a full blast of residual madness. Take account of your actions & stand by the ones you trust! Soak in all the heat & PRESS PLAY!
2) JOELL ORTIZ takes his time on a soul-fueled Apollo Brown laced gem that will age like fine wine! “Sip Slow” finds the lyrical genius combing the Hip Hop landscape to find NO competition whatsoever. Despite that, copycat rappers & industry plants rule the scene. Instead of focusing on the negative, Joell reflects on what he does have – RESPECT! The lyricist will always be in demand for his formidable mic skills while 99% of his peers will quickly fade away.
3) Even the prophets must profit. FALCON OUTLAW x DNTE boldly take on a sensitive, hot-button topic with the Pastor Wesley produced heater “Jesus Ain’t Cheap!” Emcees unafraid to take risks are the best artists. The Falconcrest duo prove they ascend among the elite by delving into the subject of religious indoctrination & its ramifications. Instead of merely nodding our heads to the track, we’re forced to reflect & question our beliefs. When the usher’s on the creep think twice about digging in your pocket. That dollar ain’t really saving your soul.
4) AGALLAH is off the grid wit’ it on his self-produced banger “Still Raw!” No Bozo moves here! The Don Bishop strides onto the scene & stays on deck to supply you with the dope s**t ya need. If that ain’t enough he’ll let the pistol do the talkin’! You better sit your ass down & enjoy the show!
5) RALPHIIE REESE enlists ESTEE NACK for a top notch “Resu(RR)ect” power heater called “Brainz Glow II!” Things are about to get REAL SPOOKY when an ominous lo-fi soundscape filters through your speakers. The supreme spitters hear the impending sonic threat creeping up on ’em & attack it like savage beasts in the wild! Nack & Ralphiie tag team the joint with skillful precision then scare away all opposition. The Needle Techtician & Nacky Chan came, saw, and conquered. The Dart Unit hits the target every time!
6) CHRIS CRNZA x PRO ZAY talk “Smack” & back it up with one of the hardest joints of the season! The Psych Ward Records power spitters throw wack rappers across the pavement then stomp ’em into submission before they assault our eardrums with more corny rhymes! Check out the emcees as they blaze new terrain. Y’all flunky d**k ridin’ muthaf***as ain’t even on the same trail!
7) RUSTE JUXX x PETE ROCK raise a “BlackFist” for power on the dope collabo heater from the mic mastermind & production legend! There are LOTS of issues to be addressed in the black community & Ruste doesn’t hold back in relaying them. Over a stellar soundscape that embodies TRIUMPH, the lyricist builds up his people to combat the oppressive forces breaking them down!
8) Melbourne, Australia production master BANKSHOT conjures a dark dimension of sonic rhythms for LOUIE SINCERE x MAGNO GARCIA to traverse. “Elite” finds the audio adventurers entering the wolf’s den & emerging as conquering heroes. Their reign on the underground will last for eternity! Every utterance on the mic is a victory. Every ad-lib is a win!
9) RAY VENDETTA x CA$ABLANCA deliver pinpoint accuracy for a direct hit to the dome called “Counter Assault!” “The Billion Bar Mind EP” heater amps up the energy with cutthroat verses that left incisions in our speakers! Ray will calmly lead you into a false sense of comfort before Cas savagely attacks! TheRealSkitso’s tranquil soundscape may fool you into believing that the threat is over but make no mistake…the verbal blitz is REAL!
10) SNOTTY x INFLUENCE are “Out The Dirt” & in the studio making hits! The fruit of their labor is currently being represented by a hard boiled heater from the duo’s “New York Belgian Ale” project. The slow-rolling sizzler shines light on Snotty’s origins and translates to one of the most gripping street tales ever put on wax. Pleasure comes from success but it’s often preceded by pain.
Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
