Insomniac Magazine hits ya with another round of Weekly Top 10 excitement! Cast all the drama aside & let’s get down to business.
1) JAMIL HONESTY x HOBGOBLIN join forces with JOSIAH THE GIFT & ACE CANNONS for a “Martyr Musik 2” mega blast called “HeavenHelpMe!” The collabo banger checks all the important boxes(dope flows & lyrics…ill production)and is most definitely one of those high intensity heaters we can’t get enough of! This is soulful steez that sounds like paradise on wax. Enter the Promised Land & tap in below!
2) PORTER HAUS PRODUCTIONS is on some next level s**t! Not only are they throwin’ down with the flyest gear & accessories…but they’re also droppin’ the dopest joints around! The imprint’s latest release is “Steak & Potatoes Vol. 1” which contains one of the hardest tracks on the underground. The cut is called “Avian Flu” & it features SKYZOO, CHE NOIR x EDDIE KAINE bodying supreme production from WAVY DA GHAWD! Sky & Eddie flaunt immaculate rhyme schemes while also bookending Che’s showstopping center stage performance. There’s a reason she’s rockin’ Biggie on her shirt! Salute the mic gods & Melissa Alexander’s cinematic opulence!
3) German production powerhouses 5th DIMENSION & lyrical lord JAMAL GASOL bumrush “The Gate” & commit a “Murder In Paris!” The sinister, laid back soundscape is well in the rhyme ripper’s wheelhouse as he eviscerates one track before readily dispatching it for an even grimier sonic backdrop! This is the perfect motivation you need for a homicide. Hide your weapons & don’t allow yourself outside!
4) Noble Scity & The Umbrella unite to overthrow the opposition on a CRUCIAL THE GUILLOTINE powered gemstone titled “Garnet!” ZAGNIF NORI, MICKEY DIAMOND x PRO DILLINGER hurl venomous rhymes at their rivals & slay all traitors in their midst. This is hardbody Hip Hop for the underground! Feel it, love it, & pay your respects!!!
5) INNOCENT? x NUTSO go “Boro 2 Boro” with a STAN DA MAN laced banger called “The Intro!” Each lyricist gets a chance to punish tailor-made heat from the prolific sonic craftsman. INNOCENT? immediately goes to war, leaving piles of corpses in his wake while Nutso flexes a slick and deadly approach to the action! Keep in mind, this is only the beginning. Get yourself in gear. You’ve got 13 more tracks to go!
6) ELZHI serves up a “Seven Times Down Eight Times Up” sonic sizzler called “Smoke & Mirrors!” The MONICA BLAIRE featured gem sports seriously dope production from the one & only JR SWIFTZ. All vocal flourishes are punctuated by the audio assassin’s otherworldly soundscape that elevate the proceedings to new heights. All the joints we’ve heard have been pure flames. If the rest of the LP is as ill as the singles these guys will achieve Album Of The Year!
7) THE HERETIC x PLAGUE MAGICIAN conjure a sprawling two-part saga on one 2 and a half minute track! EDDIE KAINE is our initial guide for the sonic voyage. He takes us through downbeat terrain overflowing with pain & regret before passing the torch to ROME STREETZ who transforms those emotions into unbridled aggression. It’s a FACE-OFF worthy of 2 high caliber MCs. No wonder the joint’s called “Nicholas Cage!”
8) ARMANI CAESAR begins her “Countdown” to complete dominance of the music charts with an insane JR SWIFTZ laced joint from “The Liz!” Chopped up piano chords & hard beats never sounded as good as they do on this track. Add some Redman to the mix & what’cha get is an undisputed hit! Armani is a lyrical sharpshooter who’s taking aim at the industry. The Tina Turner with the burner is blastin’ holes in the competition!
9) G FAM BLACK & UGLY JON team up with GENERALBACKPAIN, CHUCK CHAN x P-RO for a “Hideous” new heater guaranteed to scare off all rivals! The ghoulish gang of underground griots are without question some of the most creative entities on the scene. When they spray the booth with this much lyrical artillery the opposition pack up and leave town with a quickness! No matter where you go they will find you. Your friends & relatives won’t be able to identify the remains.
10) We like to end the countdown on the highest note possible…but you know that already! What phenomenal dopeness could we include? Ahhh yesss, THA GOD FAHIM x YOUR OLD DROOG’s DJ PRESERVATION produced masterwork “Charles Barkley!” TGF & Y.O.D. get super agile with the track by performing verbal somersaults over your entire crew! They walk a lyrical high wire act while DJ Preservation head butts you with the heat. Y’all can’t get funkier than this but you’re welcome to try!
Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
