1) SWAB unfurls a top tier sizzler from “The Spy Ring” featuring immaculate spitters JOSIAH THE GIFT & GENERALBACKPAIN!!! “The Manual” finds the mic champs rippin’ the track so hard they feel compelled to leave a handbook behind to show us how they did it!!! The addictive audio banger sends shockwaves throughout the booth but no set of instructions will ever get listeners up to their level!
2) When TORAE & MARCO POLO went on a “Midnight Run” we should’ve expected “More Danger” around the corner!!! The supreme bar slayer & production powerhouse shut s**t down & issued a threat to any would be competitors! This is Hip Hop at its purest so The Source, XXL, and Vibe better pay their respects to a deadly duo dominating every sector of the industry!!!
3) ROC MARCIANO & PETE ROCK are back together again to work their magic on a track called “Chris Angel!” The former UN collaborators conjure 70’s pimp imagery with so much dedication & passion it would make Max Julien blush! This ain’t the type of joint you’ll find on rotation on those corny commercial stations…but it IS the type of joint that’ll make ya put yo’ foot in da ass of any who try to play games wit’ yo’ money!!!
4) ROME STREETZ & JOEY BADA$$ prove to be a lethal lyrical combo on “Fire At Ya Idle Mind!” WAVY DA GHAWD throws down atomic bombs behind the boards with the hapless competition strugglin’ to steer out of danger’s way! Rome dives into action like a merciless mercenary strangling rivals with the mic while Joey showcases an ill fill in the blanks rhyme style that ultimately spells out the opps’ unfortunate demise!!!
5) COUSIN FEO x LORD JUCO are two of the best MCs of their generation so they honor one of the best Soccer players of his particular peer group on “Zanetti!” The new DEATH AT THE DERBY sizzler is fueled by FINN & features supreme cuts by the always amazing DJ DUBPLATES! Tight rhymes and production keep this power gem percolatin’! When the big boys call ya head over to Italy!!!
6) PHONTE & RAPPER BIG POOH kept active with solo sizzlers aplenty but now they’ve reunited as LITTLE BROTHER for a DEONIS “PUMAH” COOK laced heat rock called “Wish Me Well!” Over gloriously crafted production, the prestigious pair of lyrical powerhouses flow like spring water on a hot summer day! Weed, women, and wicked industry tactics are the topics of discussion. Take a tour with the mic titans & PRESS PLAY!!!
7) NAPPYHIGH may be a “MENACE” to society but he’s also shapin’ up to be the messiah of the underground!!! On “FromTheProjects,” RAEKWON & WESTSIDE GUNN finesse the immaculate arrangement with godly bars of high-powered bravado. The joint blasts thru the speakers with raw intensity and eventually morphs into a sedate sizzler to keep us guessing what’s next. This is hardcore heat for the listeners! It’s exactly like the projects where things can go from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye!
8) While industry heads are sitting around sucking their thumbs(amongst other things)and following every daily trend to chase the dollar, JIMMI DA GRUNT & WANN SKLOBI shake up the scene with something a little more ambitious! “Linus” is a magnificent example of what can happen when you combine slick lyricism with exotic vocals and a piano arrangement that just won’t quit! It’s called creativity people! And these two underground entities are overflowin’ with originality!!!
9) There are a whole lot of superstars on this list tonight but we challenge you to find any who can compete with the ones below! TONE SPLIFF & DJ R DUB L team up with YOUNG HUMP, PACEWON, BURROWZ, RUSTE JUXX, BLAQ POET, SAYZEE & REPETE 23 for a show-stopping sizzler called “DeathWish” that puts the final nail in the coffin of the opposition!!! Tone weaves a hypnotic rhythm that works wonders for the impressive wordplay & diverse styles of each lyrical avenger! Repete 23 then showers the set with a whirlwind of sensational cuts to close out the action & bring it all home!
10) A countdown ain’t a countdown unless BUB STYLES & CRIMEAPPLE are somewhere on it! Fortunately for us, they’re on this one TOGETHER!!! The ALEX SIEBURTH seared sizzler “Dipped In Glass” showcases Bub’s urgent, raspy delivery to the max while Crime’s surgical rhyme skills cut into the top tier soundscape like a knife!!! We know the opps are listenin’ and they’re envious! Don’t be mad. Just do better next time ya step in the booth!
