Insomniac Magazine’s Weekly Hip Hop Top Ten 2/4/19

Don’t Sleep On These New Hip Hop Releases

Back for another week of audio excitement, Insomniac Magazine delivers a Top 10 list that can’t be beat! There was so much heat released that you can bet on plenty of spillover into next week’s chart. But it’s time to focus on the music magnificence that awaits you today. Uncover the sonic gems of the underground and check out the list below!

1) BIG TWINS, RIGZ, BEANZ, ROSATI, SMOOVTH, and HUS KINGPIN blasted their way into the “Winners Circle” with so much lyrical firepower it left bullet holes in our speakers and the smell of gunpowder filtering into the hall. The M.Stacks powered “Grimey Life” gem may have flown under the radar but the Phresh Vision helmed clip adds a sense of urgency to the lyrics you may not have noticed before. Each emcee is a powerhouse in his or her own right so you can imagine what a collabo between ALL of them would sound like. Actually you can’t…because the final product transcends your wildest Hip Hop fantasies & shoots them off into the stratosphere! When ill-informed music listeners complain about the dumbed down deliveries of the genre’s modern day spitters, introduce them to this track & they’ll shut the fxxk up!

2) Middle Finger Music is coming out swingin’ in 2019 as KETCH P makes himself known in the industry and on the charts with the Foulmouth powered “Top Ten’s & Buff’s!” The minute he grabs the mic reverberations can be felt throughout the entire Hip Hop underground! Emcees are fleeing the streets to run back home to mama & even seasoned vets are callin’ it a day! Ketch P is strong armin’ this bxxch so bow down & respect the master. Get on his good side now or suffer later!

3) V DON x ETO link up with WILLIE THE KID to hit the fans with “Heather Grey” heat called “Gloria!” The entire platter is an epic saga that will completely consume your listening time due to its phenomenal production & rewind-worthy rhymes. This track in particular embodies the dark & gritty mood of the project. You may be relaxing in bed or lounging on a beach but “Gloria” will yoke you up out of your comfort zone and toss you out onto the cold, harsh streets. This ain’t music. It’s cinema. V Don, Eto, and Wllie are heralded filmmakers in their prime. This is one release, out of many, that will keep the audience glued to their seats.

4) PENPALS x JUNCLASSSIC are teaming up for a colossal collabo project so shout it from the rafters & go “Tell Your Uncle” what the fxxk is going on!!! The sensational first single features Armand Hammer’s ELUCID & DAMN it sounds so good! “Full Metal Jaguars” is what Hip Hop will be sounding like in the 31st century if the true gatekeepers of lyricism & boombap can wrest control of the money-hungry corporations who don’t give a sxxt about the culture! This is an advanced electric blast of underground energy you can’t find anywhere else. Dopeness upon dopeness upon dopeness. That be how it feel!

5) Last year was a great year for CHARLIE CHAN & LUPUS DEI and it looks like 2019 will be even better! Chuck has been supplying heat since Day One & aside from his underground IKING takeover, Lupus just released a superb new platter called “EST.1994” that’s a certified MUST HAVE for the collection. NOW The two Hip Hop titans mix elements of ill lyricism & dope production together for a potent showcase of underground excellence titled “The Potion!” Chuck kicks things off & shows that he’s just as adept on the mic as he is behind the boards. His hardcore rhyme style will smack the lyrics out the mouth of your favorite rapper while Lupus eases in with a smooth, calculated delivery that provides comfort before he hits ya with one final venomous verse of death! You can’t compete with #hometeam so why bother trying?!? You ain’t messin’ wit’ the mixture!

6) FERAL SERGE, MORTXGRIM, BOBBY CRAVES & BASEMENT CHEMISTRY conjure up new CERTAIN.ONES heat titled “Bad Chemist!” It’s time to level up and live it up with breath-taking bars & boom bap from the kinetic collective ya can’t get enough of! This group is so dope that they light their blunts with lightning bolts & iron out wrinkles in time on the regular! Janis Joplin might’ve had a little piece of your heart but Certain.Ones are the crew who really keep your blood pumpin’!

7) In what seems like an extremely brief period of time the underground has become very aware of rhyme renegade RJ PAYNE. We’re not the least bit surprised because the street spitter brings so much raw intensity to the booth that he’s impossible to ignore! You would never want to do that anyway since the verbal vigilante brings nothing but heat to each & every track! On the Neff Beats powered “Keisha’s Gun,” RJ rips the dark, foreboding soundscape to pieces with a frenzy of phenomenal bars that eviscerate any opposing forces who dare come in contact with the lyrical warlord. “If Cocaine Could Talk” it would say a lot about the mysterious Mr. Payne. He’s a powerful MC who brings dope bars to the masses!

8)TEDY ANDREAS builds “Dynasties” with a wealth of drive & talent that ensure his family will be living large for years to come! When it comes to dropping new heat the rising spitter never disappoints. His latest banger is a Graphwize laced production that propels the momentum of the lyricist’s delivery to give it more weight! We know Tedy means business but once you match his vocals with a hard-hitting soundscape, the kid’s unstoppable!

9) POSTMAN L x ROBERT DENIR0 heat up the underground arena with a solidly crafted new gem titled “The Art Of The Sword!” Over a haunting sonic backdrop, Postman L brings so much passion to the mic that you’ll feel inspired the second you press play. The path to greatness may be long and arduous but he’s willing to work hard to get to the top. He’s seen the things that God can do so his opportunities in life are endless!

10) BANG BELUSHI, KETCH P & BUB ROCK close out the countdown with a MONSTOUS HEATER called “For The One Time!” Foul Mouth puts his foot, leg, and entire waist into the production so the talented trifecta can set the booth on fire! Bang & Ketch decimate the mic then Bub shuts things down once and for all with ill lines like “Yo foul, I remember watchin’ 8 Mile/Now the business be rap/I need 8 thou in the PayPal.” ONLY 8 thou?!? Bub is givin’ you muthafxxxas a bargain! Y’all better get wit’ him & the team before their price goes up. It’s Middle Finger Music ALL DAY!

Well that’s it for this week. Catch ya next time and…DON’T SLEEP!
