We thought we could slide a few of our cutting room floor faves onto the countdown…but the artists below took possession of the list & wouldn’t let go!!! So y’know what that means! Ya better gear up for action & tap in to the Weekly Top Ten!
1) LORD GOAT & RECOGNIZE ALI teamed up with PRO DILLINGER for a “Mortuary Drape” massacre on the opposition!!! “Coke Synagogue” brings powder to the pulpit and empowers the underground with a full supply of addictive audio narcotics! Goat, Ali & Pro provide the perfect chemical mix for the top of the list! Now experience a Super Coven Records sizzler that you’ll never forget!!!
2) Is it possible to predict a classic project on the strength of two singles? If CHINO XL & STU BANGAS are the entities involved, that answer’s a definite YES! On “D.X.P.S,” the “God’s Carpenter” mic juggernaut is on some Double XX Posse s**t cause he ain’t gonna be able to do that weak rapping all you muthaf**kas are doing! In fact, he’s gonna rhyme circles around your head until your soul enters the astral plane never to return! Stu Bangas will escort you out of existence with a compelling death knell. It’s far more than you deserve as you’re banished from the planet Earth!
3) Each “SLEEP IS THE COUSIN” single eclipses the previous one(AND THAT’S NO SMALL FEAT)!!! On “Stone Fish Venom,” visionary mic ripper VEGA7 THE RONIN joins forces with controversial mic champion CAMBATTA for an immaculate slice of audio heat expertly laced by SUPERIOR with mind-blowing cuts courtesy of DJ BOOGIEMAN!!! One can equate the sonic masterwork to a fever dream brought to reality. Extraordinarily vivid imagery accompanied by preternatural production elevates this track above a wealth of worthy gems. The selection is a surefire winner. Bear witness to a new plateau of inventiveness & unlimited creativity!
4) The mighty TEFLON emerges fresh “Out The Gate” with a triumphant heater crafted by the iconic DJ PREMIER!!! The “2 Sides To Every Story” underground wrecking ball had us reaching for the neck brace again because the head nod energy is VERY real!!! Tef is so “in the pocket” on this joint that we had to run this one back at least 100 times! And with a soundscape this dope laced by a living legend, ya know we’re gearing up for 100 more!!!
5) Beef? WHAT BEEF?!!? CONWAY THE MACHINE & HUS KINGPIN bury the hatchet…into the opposition’s MUTHAF**KIN’ HEAD on a TEMPER BEATS seared sizzler titled “The Machine VS Portishus!!!” When it comes to elite lyricism you CAN’T get better than this! Two capos dominating the set make a killing by murderin’ every mic in sight!!!
6) And The Oscar goes to SKIP THE KID & ESTEE NACK!!! That’s the feeling we got when we heard this miracle of a track because their gem is a straight up movie!!! “Dreamz R Real” amped us up so much we now have no doubt we can achieve our goals of world conquest! Skip finesses an ill rock guitar loop & unleashes The Nack Daddy on the public at large. What follows next is the complete annihilation of the planet as we know it as Hip Hop Heads leave hell behind for paradise!!!
7) WYZE WONDA & DNTE go f**kin’ BERSERK on their high-energy “Heartbreak” heater that’s a relentlessly off-the-rails sonic thrill ride!!! The supreme bar assassins navigate around the Falconcrest avenger’s unhinged arrangement like nimble tight rope walkers who never fall off the edge!!! Joints like this make us reaffirm our love for Hip Hop and salute the 2 colossal kings on the mic!!!
8) CONWAY THE MACHINE, BENNY THE BUTCHER & 38 SPESH are three of the best MCS of the modern era!!! Taking that into consideration, you would expect them to be running low on lyrical fuel at this point. NOPE! On the GRAYMATTER laced “LALO” we find the trio delivering some of their best lines to date! Take Benny’s “These bricks that I’m handling & these shifts that I’m managing made me & my FRIENDS famous like Jennifer Aniston” or Spesh’s “These hos meet you & have a field day/She got you saved in her phone under “BILL PAY,” as prime examples! Graymatter supplies a drowsy, soul-fueled groove to the proceedings. But there’s no sleep for the crew when they’re on the grind!
9) No one should ever overlook the unstoppable RJ PAYNE! And if you do, “JIGSAW” is comin’ to get ya!!! On a CARTUNE BEATZ crafted power heater titled “The Pendulum,” the rhyme phenomenon reminds us(like we could EVER forget)that his brilliance escalates with every bar! Personally, we feel like he could destroy any MC who steps in his path. But judge for yourself…before you run out of time!!!
10) BUB STYLES & MICKEY DIAMOND blow minds with ill rhymes & leave your “Melon On The Tablecloth” with a MICHAELANGELO laced banger!!! The underground blockbuster matches The Cold Cut King’s raspy flow with The Umbrella assassin’s booming Darth Vader-esque delivery for a murderous track that supplies a maximum impact to the dome! If the deadly duo invite you out to dinner you might be better off staying home or the remnants of your brain are sure to stain the vinyl floor!
