Here we go again readers! It’s time for another edition of Insomniac’s Weekly Top Ten. You waited for what seemed like an eternity to find out who would make the list…and now your patience has been rewarded. Let’s run it down the line…

Each emcee effortlessly flows over a funky groove all Hip Hop Heads can truly appreciate…and let’s not forget about the Fred & Annabelle directed video. I want to call it a masterpiece. In fact, I just did!

2) STYLES P & BLAZIN tore apart Cookin Soul’s “True & Living” track. Raw beats & rhymes complemented by scratches provided by DJ Tray equal great music for the listeners. Chalk up another win for The Ghost!

3) MARC 7 of the legendary Jurassic 5 teamed up with KNYTRO & MC SUPERNATURAL for a Blacksmith produced gem about reflection & the determination it takes to reach our goals. “Come 2 Far” is what we needed around the office to remind us of the discipline that’s required to acquire and maintain success.

4) BAD LUCC went into the booth with PROBLEM & SKEME and created another monstrous track that will shatter your speakers. “Gimmie Mine” begins with a sample of Shirley Temple singing “Animal Crackers” & descends into some hardcore madness that would’ve traumatized any child stars of the 1930’s. Hey, it’s their nightmare…but it’s our dream!

5) PRETTY UGLY showcased his gift for storytelling by crafting an analogy between his gun and the perfect girlfriend. “Beauty And Beast” made us nod our heads, laugh, and marvel at the Philly lyricist’s irrepressible skills. When PU gets into the zone, nothing can stand in his way!

6) CAMP LO returned to the scene with the Ski Beatz produced banger “Bright Lights.” It contained the distinct, high energy delivery we’ve come to expect from the duo & made the entire staff very, VERY happy about their upcoming “Ragtime Hightimes” album, dropping May 19th.

7) CHEECH BUNDY came through with another great track from his “High Functioning Stoner” collabo EP with !llmind and it blew us away! “Cross The Flame” allows the NYC emcee to get a lot off of his chest in regards to public scrutiny & perception…He does so brilliantly!

8) CREATIVE GOLD energized the already amped-up track, “Derek Jeter,” with a forceful presence and delivery on the mic. The Woodro Skillson produced banger is a wake up call to the competition. CG is coming through!

9) MIKE G & JEAN MICHAELS dip and cascade over the jazzy rhythms of “B.O.W.” They elevate the hazy, blunted sonic backdrop to new heights and we the listeners are all the better for it. ‘Mellow music for the mind, body & soul.

10) B-EZZY expressed anger, strength, and determination with the compelling cut “Whole Life.” The song details a slow but steady rise to the top. We’re certain B-Ezzy will make it there!

Well that’s it for another week. Catch ya next time…and DON’T SLEEP!
