John Lennon: Rare and Unseen review by Tony Samuel

John Lennon, the iconic musician/songwriter is chronicled in this new DVD release from MVD visual.  Using original footage and rare video of the musical genius, we get a behind the scenes view of the legendary artist in JOHN LENNON RARE AND UNSEEN.

Lennon was the most politically charged member of The Beatles, and the most controversial as well. This release provides a view into what made Lennon so interesting. One example highlighted in this documentary is the chronicling of the burning of The Beatles’ records that occurred after the star reportedly made comments that some considered to be anti-Christian. Even the Ku Klux Klan decided to make a cameo to publicly bash Lennon.

The DVD is crammed with insight into Lennon’s life including interviews, rare images, and commentary from significant players in the music industry. A stand out in this portrait is the Stay in Bed/Grow Your Hair publicity stunt.  You have to see it to believe it!  JOHN LENNON RARE AND UNSEEN provides an impressive slice of rock history that’s worth watching.
