The textures on this album are varied, and LaRue flows effortlessly through each sonic ambiance. The soundscapes range from the boom bap/blues fused “Down on My Knees” to the island flair on “More Love,” and the trap styled rolling high-hats and snappy snares found on “I Know.” Many times when an artist embraces diverse vibes on a project, it can feel forced. However, here, authenticity and substance are evident throughout.
