Lou Brindell unrolls a new 8-track EP loaded with soulful, elegantly crafted Hip Hop. The prolific emcee continues to deliver impactful music with thought-provoking lyrics. Just one example is the powerful prose from the track “Hypocritical American Man,” where the introspective word artisan self-analyzes with the line, “Yeah, I got blood on my hands. Am I a revolutionary or a company man?”
The funk-laden and head-nod inducing production on Cirlces I: Upward Spiral is no doubt another rewind-worthy release. When asked about the project, the multi-talented emcee describes it by sharing:
It is an expressive reflection of the tumultuous times that we’ve all been reckoning with this year. It is me looking into the mirror and seeing my real self, the good, the bad and the ugly. The entire perfectly imperfect human animal that is me. I’m angry. I’m sad. I’m scared. I’m empowered. I’m privileged. I feel guilty. I want to continue learning and growing. I want to fight if I need to. I feel motivated to change. I want to be part of the coming revolution of love.
Doing double duty as rhyme practitioner and producer, Brindell is joined on crafting the project’s sounds by Ace Ha and Danke Noetic. Be sure to shortlist this multi-textural sonic Hip Hop experience on your listening queue. -IZ-REAL
