In an interview with Zane Lowe, Nas reflected on what it was like to be at the center of one of Hip Hop’s most notorious battles. He explained that unlike today’s rappers, making money wasn’t the core reason for challenging another mc. He explained, “It felt like we were the leaders of nations…What you felt surrounding us was there was an importance in what we were doing that mattered more than just success. It was more than just, are my records going to sell or yes, we need the records to sell to make money.” Nas also spoke about the murders of Biggie and Tupac and said, “When those two guys passed away I thought it was the end of rap.”
Below is one of our Nas faves(and there are many)”Made You Look.”
