Production masterminds Camo Monk and Deuce Ellis craft a smooth and jazzy soundscape entitled “Blue Jazz” off their collab tape. When asked about the release, Deuce Ellis explained, “I had a jazz-inspired chord progression that I played on guitar. Then I added some synth and bass around it…just something really dreamy and spacey. You can hear me playing hand drums live on the intro. That was just something sitting on my MPC that I was actually a bit shy about sharing. Monk heard that and was like, ‘send it now!’ He took the sonics and gave them more texture, added killer drums, and some secret sauce.”
In addition to the sonic dopeness, the duo has a contest they’re launching for the “Camo Ellis” project. Hit stream and read the details below.
