In an interview with The New York Times, Andre 3000 admitted that his head wasn’t into the first Outkast reunion show at Coachella. Prince and Paul McCartney went to check out his set and a few days later “The Purple One” even gave him a phone call. Prince told him, “When you come back, people want to be wowed. And what’s the best way to wow people? Just give them the hits.” Andre explained that he didn’t want to do the show. Prince responded by saying, “I’ve been there. I’ve tried to do other things. After you give them the hits, then you can do whatever.”
