After the unveiling of the powerful visuals and track revealed during the broadcast of the BET Awards on CBS, Public Enemy announces their re-signing with the iconic record label they were integral in bolstering to the top of Hip Hop and pop culture consciousness over thirty years ago. “Fight The Power (2020 Remix)” was an impactful revision of the group’s rallying cry for social justice. The music video featured both veteran Hip Hop artists including P.E., Nas, Black Thought, Questlove, Jahi and new era major talent Rapsody and YG.
Regarding the announcement about the group returning to Def Jam, Chuck D explained, “Cultural Institutions are important. Along with the announcement of the signing was the news that the group will release a new album on 9/25 with Def Jam entitled, “What You Gonna Do When The Grid Goes Down.”
