Review: B. Mills – “The Life & Times Of An Eternal Optimist” (Album)

Rising R & B sensation B. Mills transmits uplifting vibes & inspirational messages on a transformative new opus titled “The Life & Times Of An Eternal Optimist.” Kicking things off with “And We Rise,” the Washington, D.C. musician beckons listeners to take control of their lives instead of being caught up in the drama of others. The sonic backdrop builds from simple acoustic production to a rich, fuller sound that provides a triumphant edge to the powerful tune. “The Light” follows next with the esteemed artist searching within his very soul for a way to maintain hope amidst the darkness of the world. “Get Up 2 Get Down” is a funky gem that dispenses motivation for anyone struggling through their daily grind. The hustle continues but he’ll work it all out! “Conflicted” merges the genres of rock, soul, and pop into a musical gumbo of creative brilliance while warning that money and fame can’t compare to the power of love.

“If U Will” is an upbeat track that conveys the beauty & excitement of a new romance. It sends the audience off on a high before segueing into a decidedly downbeat tempo with the “It’s About Damn Time” Interlude. The stylistically plodding intermission sets us up for the silky vocals & expert craftsmanship of “Slow Motion.” The standout track will immediately capture your attention & tag the artist as a powerhouse talent who can’t be overlooked! “Life Is Beautiful” rounds out the collection with a lush soundscape & impassioned lyrics that indicate this particular “optimist” is destined for a positively incredible career.
