Review: Burn Money Music – Bridge City Cypher Ep. 8 (Video/Audio)

Portland, Oregon’s Burn Money Music delivers a masterclass in lyricism with each installment of the Bridge City Cypher series. The latest edition finds the record label, studio, and Hip Hop collective shining the spotlight on rising spitters kayelaJ, Swiggle Mandela, Nick B & RC $pitta for three minutes and 42 seconds of verbal savagery that promises to lay the SMACK DOWN on the competition! kayelaJ is first up to bat & she definitely comes out swingin’ with enough shock value rhymes & oratory artillery to blow a hole in your chest! Swiggle Mandela then steps up to take the deadxbrainz laced banger in a different direction. Serving up a meditative approach to the proceedings, the earnest wordsmith drops profound lyrics about the young soldiers in his prayers before shifting gears to a more “in your face” aesthetic!

Nick B is next to dominate the scene with a hypnotically compelling vocal tone & smooth delivery. You’ll want to hear him rhyme all day which is a sure sign he’s on to something big! While we’re on the subject of major moves, let’s discuss RC $pitta who explodes into action with such command you’ll wonder why Jay, Dre or Wayne haven’t snatched him up yet! He stakes his claim as “point guard of the Dream Team” & lives up to the hype…and then some! The heat contained in Bridge City Cypher Episode 8 is proof that mumble rap hasn’t completely consumed the industry. The emcees involved put time & effort into their art. Dope lyricism is alive & well!
