Review: J’Moris – “Moris Better: Loveless Confessions”(Album)

J’Moris stirs up a gumbo stew of sonic excitement on his 14 track “Moris Better: Loveless Confessions” mega platter. The Hillsboro, TX rhyme heavyweight takes risks & scales new heights with a genre-defying opus guaranteed to be embraced by fans worldwide! Supamario Beats, 606Gus & session9 are the audio ambassadors for this eagerly-anticipated musical expedition. They lace the lyrical lothario with stellar production that lifts the energy to an all-time high!

The aptly titled “Magic” serves up a bewitching brew of Trap & R & B that will leave listeners mesmerized. It’s a powerful opening cut that showcases exactly why J is “running point like the NBA!” 254 Assassin, The Composer, and Four000 Units lend an able assist to the superbly crafted “Wanna Ball” while the funk gets left behind in favor of digging up the dirt on “Skeletons!” The mic beast then takes us back to ’21 with the bouncy banger “Activated” before gettin’ “Too Spicy” for radio but hot enough to keep the ladies flockin’ to his “Private Party.” This cut in particular is a prime example of the artist’s creative growth. Classic soul complete with finger snaps, understated harmonies, and baby-making chords elevate the track and Hip Hop as a whole! D. Hewitt turns up for a spectacular guest turn on the hypnotic heater “Fall Thru” until strippers get to “Work” on a high-powered sizzler!

“You Bad” flaunts a flashy arrangement well-suited for the verses then segues into an erotic audio treat called “We Can Get Away.” “Not For Everyone” finds the rapper deep in his bag of bravado as he blows backs out in the bedroom & beyond! “Loveless Confessions” is the consummate title track that embodies the entire project while the clever “You Thing” & richly textured “NaNa” emphasize the greatness the unconventional griot has achieved! Hands down, this is J’Moris’ best project to date. It’s a monumental triumph that both peers and a growing legion of consumers will cherish for years to come!
