jRadx merges Rap, Dance/Electronic & Experimental music into a magnificent melange of audio magic for the masses. The Coquitlam, BC-based sonic mastermind kick starts his “Desert Power” opus with an ambitious “Intro” that conjures images of a circus or traveling caravan of performers. “Maybe” follows next with sci-fi rhythms and a bare bones rhyme scheme that addresses the musician’s feelings of inadequacy and general malaise about the state of the world. “AAAAAAA” picks up the pace by showcasing a relentlessly funky soundscape sprinkled with repeated “commands” to have a nice day! After slicing through the sea of insincerity, “Ten Toes” returns us to a harsh reality with mechanical instrumentation that reflects the drone-like ambiance of a standard 9 to 5. “Strife” transports listeners to the inner turmoil dwelling within us all. The cut features a dazzling vocal turn by the artist that serves as a cushion for the pain percolating throughout the track.
“Jaded Mind” finds the innovator slipping into darkness with a downtempo arrangement that teeters between depression and paranoia. The aptly titled “Hypertribe” is a sprawling mishmash of guttural chanting and primitive production that sounds like j was watching “Quest For Fire” on acid while “Playful Thinking” emits ominous Hitchcockian styled vibes. “Digital Music Therapy” delivers visions of a pharaoh emerging from his tomb to pop bottles at the hottest club before “Flying” grants us a first class aerial view of ancient Egypt.
“DreamsV2” gears our ears for war until the producer upends the entire affair with a mellow, sax-laden switch-up to keep us on our toes. “Hellscape” sounds like the type of blissful nirvana Beelzebub would manifest to trick us before going in for the kill while “Freeform” lifts our spirits with an injection of unbridled aural euphoria. “Wall” soon lunges from the speakers with a wave of super-charged energy & pulsating tempos to match until “Project_6” wraps up the extended adventure on a selection transmitted directly from the alien Mothership. jRadx possesses enough talent to power the desert & beyond. His otherworldly arrangements will keep us entertained for years to come…as long as we can keep him on the planet!
